I just had the thought- I wonder what the girl to guy ratio on here is? Im new and I feel like ive just noticed a lot more men on this forum than women.  ??? Not that it bothers me, but I just have to question what the real demographic is. (I also wonder if someone else has taken this poll already? >_> Hopefully not so Im not being repetitive!)  :D

Also this is not counting the people who prefer not to state a gender. :)

But this could be an interesting study in whether females are more likely to vote in such a poll than males (or unknowns, if that were an option). :-\

I hear that ma tsmuke.  But I think girls may be slightly more likely to vote than guys...  I'm not sure why I think that, though.

This might sound stupid but from MY experience, remember, this is just my opinion, a lot of guys don't really care about this type of thing. I'm not bashing, I am actually very curious about what the demographic ratio would be and I am a male, but I just think that women have a bigger interest in stuff like this? Ah, I don't like how I worded that. It kinda sounds sexist. But I'm not trying to be. Or some men are just too lazy to post on something that isn't "important to them." Just my quick hypothesis. Not sure if it's true though hehe. :-\ There are many awesome guys on this forum, so I don't think we will have this problem.  ;)
If I make a mistake in my Na'vi speaking or typing (or even english hehe...) Please let me know!

There was a good point made about the people who dont wish to state  :D So I added that in.

And you all are right about girls being more likely to vote too... Didnt really think about that at the time before I posted.... Just more thought I was curious and that I was needing sleep LOL XD But good points good points... Still well see how this goes :3

It looked interesting. Girls always seem more interested in things that point out gender differences, since it reinforces what we already know (men can't multi task and like to eat lots of meat  ;) ). JK, but I think people make too big of a deal about being sexists. If you're worrying about it, you're probably not sexist.

I was going to post this George Carlin video, but...

never mind... he was cussing and swearing, and it breaks board rules.

There do seem to be more males than females on here, but then, I'm used to anime fandom where there's a massive perponderance of girls, so... ;D

I used to go on a pet forum, and nearly everyone was a middle aged women.

There were more women on here at around first launch of the site, some of them left because of public conflicts with other members, and some of them just left without so much as a peep or a how do ya do.

Some forums seem to have more females than males. Of the forums I visit, http://www.cosplay.com/forum.php is probably the most female, and http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/ seems to be almost exclusively male.
Please tell me if you see mistakes in a Na'vi post of mine. It's the only way I'll learn. :P

I've never met a girl who said, "I want to be an astronaut!", or has had any interest in space.

You have to be in the right places, at the right times, to meet them.

True, it just seems that math and science appeal more to men.
