I've seen it on an Imax screen, but not that one...I'm on the other side of the world.

The one I've seen it on was 20m x 8m and it was awesome enough!

I saw it on opening night on a 3d screen, then went the next day to Imax, only to be disappointed as the screen i saw it on opening night is a whole THREE FEET SHORTER than my areas "large screen" theater.

Trying to convince friends to buy tickets to Sydney to watch AVATAR. Must see it on big screen.

Good luck :D

I saw Avatar in 3d IMAX twice. We sat high up (had to fight people for those seats too lmao) so we had no viewing problems and it was simply amazing. I feel sorry for those sitting in low seats, that would've been terrible.

tute nuereime

if you had to sit at the bottom you would need a map to find anything on that screen. the only people who could see the whole thing would be NASA

lol
it looks great if you sit in a normal higher seat though.

The theater I would like to see it at is the Ruben H. Fleet Science theater. It's a Domed IMAX or called OMNIMAX, and if you used the circular polarization, could have a move that wraps just round your eye sockets. So every movement is felt by your stomach, but not necessarily to the point of sickness.

The Dome is 76ft in diameter. Talk about a big screen!

I saw it on a "big enough" screen  ;D

Can't wait to watch it in blu-ray 3D on the 58" plasma the fam got for christmas.

Nowhere yet, 3D tv's and blu-ray players are still in the finalizing stage and the first ones should be around sometime next year, just about only thing we know is that it's highly likely that PS3 gets a firmware upgrade that allows it to play 3D blu-rays.
It bums me that we have no IMAX here, still got to watch it on the biggest screen on the country thou. Need to go to Sydney sometime to wach a proper IMAX movie.

I don't know about imax but at least in here it was better to watch avatar when the screen filled you eyesight, made it somewhat more immersive. That's how 3d is supposed to work.

Imax is GREAT. I haven't seen Avatar in imax yet (probably in a few weeks) but i've seen other movies in the IMAX before, like The Dark Knight. Its great, i love how they put the sound even louder with that huge ass screen! and more comfortable seats as well. Ive never had any trouble with seats, i usually wait a few weeks after the movie is launched so i have a guaranteed spot in the middle :)

Tsmuké

Yeah when I went to see it in 3D IMAX we had to print our tickets out to guarantee even getting in, then we had to wait 40 minutes in a line, THEN we had to practically fight our way to the upper middle seats. It was worth it though.

I wish my waits were only 40 minutes. To get first in line, I have to be 3-5 hours early to the IMAX showing. People down here are like vultures for seats. It's ok, off from school and I got my GameBoy Advanced (semi old school!) and plenty of chips and drinks!

Tsmuké

If we had gotten snacks we wouldn't have gotten good seats, people were crazzyyy. There was only one more open seat in our row so this lady had her like 8 year old sit on her lap the whole time lolll. She REALLY didn't want to sit down in front she was searching a long time for seats high up.
