22 Dec 2011:

/spam takes up 27.1549078715 % of the entire LN forums.

9 months. ~ 5 %.

All dat SPAM.

Mostly topics are very focused, it's very tight discussion. Spam is much less so, the "Can we get to 5000 posts" thread was created so that anyone can say absolutely anything, on any subject, and not worry about being off topic.

dont get me wrong I love /spam. You get to know people better and the games are fun....sometimes

I actually have my fair share of posts here and iirc (and it might still be the case that) most of my gross postcount is actually in /spam where postcount doesnt go up.

I did an estimate and presumed the new target could be reached around the time Avatar 3 is leaving the theater. However, unless the pacing increases, it would seem that we might only achieve ~10k posts per year perhaps less. So by mid 2016 we may only have reached an additional 40k posts bringing the total to 60k posts.

So whichever happens 1st, Avatar 3 leaves theaters, or 90002 posts are made, I'll consider closing and locking the thread for posterity or leave it open as a museum of membership.

Opinions, moderators, and interest may change when the time comes, but it is probably best to leave it alone while it still draws a crowd.
