IT's the idea if you are posting, and don't want to be bothered with writing the [url=http://blah]http://blah[/url] tag, you just write "http://blah" and SMF automatically parses it to a [url=http://blah]http://blah[/url] for you.

yes. It parsed my href attribute as a [url][/url] and then the code previewer plugin parsed THAT as another (incorrectly, nested) <a></a>

#fail.

EDIT: Normally, you can go back and edit, because when you post a plain text link and it puts url tags for you, you can still go and edit the url tags content it put for you. BUT When you do [code=html][/code], it doesn't do that. IT seems to all be generated and parsed by javascript after the post is made.

Only Admins can post HTML here. General Mods (like me) cannot.

Therefore, as you see earlier, my <h1> tags within the [ html] tags did not work.

Also, look at your code preview you just did, line2. look at what SMF did to what you pasted there. It nested a link within a link. It parsed your xmlns attribute as a link...

It's true.

I guess that's the only permission I don't have that specific board mods do on their boards. I can edit posts, remove posts, lock topics, unlock topics, move topics, split topics, merge topics, and see user IP. On any board. But HTML privs I only have on certain boards.

Oh well. $:-\$ Not a huge deal for me because I never needed to use HTML before, but for someone like you, who makes a lot of really helpful tables.... It would be very useful indeed.
