I know we have a few people here that are into this stuff, so I figured I would start a general discussion area where we could just chat about it. Here are most of the programs I use:
Mixed in Key: Great tool for harmonic mixing, and it helps sets flow very smoothly together. Probably the best piece of mixing related software I have. Costs about 60 dollars though, worth every penny.
MixMeister BPM Analyzer: While i like MiK for its harmonic stuff, I dont like the way it puts the BPM of a song in. MM BPM does it great and fast.
And its free
Ableton Live 7&8: I keep both programs around because i
HATE the track warping in 8, and i find 7's is much more user friendly, but I do all my production in 8. Its pricey for sure, but if you get in good with a local recording studio they might be willing to help you out and give you one of their copies.
Nexus 2.2: Great sound libraries, and with its expansions there are tons of ways to use this program. Its not a synth though, so dont expect it to behave like one. I use it for kick samples and such. Most expensive software i have, with a price tag around $2000.
Sylenth: A great synth, and its my second favorite. Tons of stuff you can do with it, and is a very versatile tool.
Omnisphere: Easily my favorite program, but its a monster on hard drive space if you add to it and keep every sample you can find. Mines currently taking up about 30 Gigs.
What are some programs you use?
