@Ki'eyawn:...That was insulting.  And I have not made a huge discovery.  However, I am able to read.  Have you ever actually used Google?  It's a wonderful thing.  Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neocortex - it says directly that the neocortex is "involved in higher functions such as sensory perception, generation of motor commands, spatial reasoning, conscious thought, and language."  The consciousness is in the neocortex, according to Wikipedia and many other sources.

You're insulted?!  I tell you what i know as a neuroscience PhD student, and you try to tell me i'm wrong by quoting f***ing Wikipedia?  And you're insulted.  I...lack the words.  Your arrogance simply astounds me.  But never fear, ma tsmukan, i willingly remove myself from the conversation.  Obviously, i was wasting my energy.
