Hello, my name is Alexander Allegrant. I am the founder of the Na'vi Genome Project, an independent not-for-profit organization for the development of the Na'vi genome and the eventual initiation of something similar to the Avatar Program.

The difference between this project and the fictional Avatar Program is that this will be permanent. Once gone, there is no going back (unless you happen to have $100,000 lying around). If you decide to join this organization, you should know that you have the right to exit without any liability at any time. Also, if you decide to pledge money, you should know that your money will only be collected if you decide to go through with the project.

Please visit the official website for the Na'vi Genome Project:

Sincerely,
Alexander Allegrant

People, please be vigilant. This may be a fraud. I suspect, that this is a new way of obtaining money. :-[

@Kekerusey:  I am completely serious about this.  Suggesting that this is a joke is quite insulting, and I do not appreciate it.

@Niwotxhrr Tiyawn:  I hope that isn't sarcasm.

@Kamean:  This is far from fraud.  If I wanted to be fraudulent, I would have a PayPal donation widget on the site.  I am merely asking for pledges, which will only actually be collected after the procedure is complete.  This is a dream that I have, and I hope the community here is decent enough to help me make that dream a reality.

Yeah...as much fun as it is to dream about exotic procedures like genetic modification for purely cosmetic purposes that only like a hundred of the world's seven billion people will ever be able to afford, let's work on curing cancer and AIDS first, shall we? In my not-so-humble opinion, that'd be a much better use of 20,000 Euros.

I don't mean to be a downer, but...umm...well, maybe I do. It's one thing to look like a Na'vi. It's quite another thing to attempt to embody what their culture and lifestyle stands for. And they would never stand for something like this when there are billions of people in the world that could use your money to buy food to NOT starve to death.

Although this individual didn't approach the administration of LN before posting and soliciting donations, I am going to let the thread stand with the understanding that this is not affiliated with, or promoted by LearnNavi.org.

Deliberate transmogrification through forced mutation has some unforeseeable risks.  No ethical scientist would perform this procedure.  And an unethical one would take the money and run.

Take some colloidal silver and call it a decade.

To be blunt, you have to present a LOT of good evidence for success and minimal risk to try and get anyone's money, and you've done neither.  Besides, what purpose would it serve?  What would it prove?

IMHO, the truth is that living exactly like the Na'vi, and even BEING a Na'vi is simply a fantasy.  Science is strong, but not that strong, and TBH, I doubt it ever will.

Also, to everyone else here, denying that it is a fraud (especially in a circumstance like this) is ever more reason to be cautious.

@Kariliean:  Are you insinuating that I am a terrible person for spending my money this way?  I am doing this because I wish to eventually start a separate culture on an island comprised only of Na'vi and wildlife.  Even if only a few Na'vi out of the dozens that will be made as a result of the project joined my clan, generations could yield a decent group separate from humans.  For me, the human condition makes me ill; humans as a species are destructive, no matter how you delude yourself.  Not that I have to explain any of this to you.

@Marki:  Thank you.  I do appreciate it.  However, let it be noted: I am not asking for donations.  I am asking for pledges for donation in the future.

@P.A.'li makto:  We would hopefully start a clan similar in culture to the Na'vi of Pandora.  This could be accomplished on an island, separate from the infection of humans.

@Kekerusey:  I am far from insane.  You are insane for thinking that this is not a reality.

@Eana Tanhi:  Neurosurgically.

@Txur'Itan:  I find your statement to be insulting.  Suggesting for me to induce argyria in myself is cruel and uncalled for.

@Tsuksim atsawl:  I fail to see where qualifications come in here.  I am simply starting this organization; I do not intend to do the procedures myself.  Perhaps in a few years after I finish med school, I can, but until then, I will leave the complex procedures to the experts that I will petition to.

@Eyamsiyu:  How refreshing.  You are actually someone on here who did not directly insult me!  However, you are insinuating that I am a fraud.  So let me get this straight: saying that I am not a fraud makes me a fraud?  That's one hell of a piece of backwards logic.  So would that mean saying that I am a fraud would mean I am not one?  That is simply ridiculous.  I am 100% legitimate, and if you do not believe me, I could care less.  As for what it would prove, it would prove nothing.  Its only goal is to improve quality of life for those who envy the Na'vi, wishing to be of them instead of the rather pathetic human race.  I personally am appalled at the destruction that humans as a species have caused.

@Ku'randa:  I do not have a Ph.D, though I am on the road to getting an MD.  Please refrain from sarcastically insulting me.

I am appalled at the state of this forum.  And you try to follow the ways of the Na'vi by learning their language.  It really is laughable.  I only offer the road to becoming a more pure being, a refreshing change that could yield a following of Na'vi to change the world for the better, environmentally.  Scorning me for such a graceful undertaking is pathetic.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Signed,
Alexander Allegrant

Let's see you post asking for money the same day your account was created to fund a currently impossible operation hmmm that's got a whole bunch of red flags saying b.s.
I know, Why not fund my trip to 1985 it only costs $1,000,000 and I'll invest money in stock like apple and Microsoft to pay you back then you'll gave plenty of $$$.

Oooooo I get it it's opposite day! Well was...
