Goddamit I lost the game again!

You know what else pisses me off?  People who are sloooow.  Like, so slow, I'm working a sales position and I'm explaining something very simple to them.  I say it clearly in very easy to understand terms... and then they look at me kind of vacantly and confused, and then they ask me questions... questions that I just answered in my explanation.  I swear a dolphin would get it quicker than they could...

It's hard enough dealing with the people who are from another country and barely know English.  Them, I can forgive because they are still learning.  But a forty year old born American citizen should not speak like he's ESL.  Nor his wife.  Or his kids.  I mean... it's gross!

What really gets to me are people who you work with who refuse to understand basic civility. My assistant manager for example is a total snake. She steals sales (we work on commission) refuses to help anyone out, refuses to stay in the store during her shift, (i.e. shopping for 2 hours without clocking out) and refusing to cover for anyone.

After all the BS this person causes she had the nerve to ask me to cover her shift tommorow so she could go out with friends. Due to the fat that she refuses to help anyone at the store for any reason, I have said that I am busy (sitting on my couch) and will not be able to cover for her (again).

Might not teach her a lesson but it sure makes me feel better.

I don't particularly care about her position, its just that when you do go off on her she is too slow to get it. I work like 15 hours a week at this point so I wouldn't cry if they fired me. I have started answering her exclusively in a mix of broken Na'vi and Spanish when she says something stupid though. (it has cut down on how much she speaks )

The following rant is direceted at those living in the USA. I am a American veteran servered 18 years in the Army proudly. Now this may seem old and taken while but what saw yesterday pushed me over that edge. After 911 everyone showed their pride and support by flying flags all sizes. From homes, car antennas, backs of work trucks you name it there was our nations flag. Look around today it's a freaking digrace the condtion these same so called united Americans fly their little to large flags some in such a state that it's barely knoticeble what is. The Reble gas station flys a flag at the cost of $8,000 it looks like crap. The only US flag that has that right is one being carried into battle. Our home land is not under attack is it so hard to put down the drink or food take a moment and get it properly repaired or deposed of and get a new one? Your local VFW post be happpy to instruct you in this matter. I did not loose any body parts or my life defending your rights, but I know of one very close friend who did. Add his name the 1,000's before men and woman willing to put their life on hold for a larger good. If you have a family member or friend now serving give them some respect don't have to support the war but please support the soldier. If you go to buissness that is flying a flag in poor state tell them it's difracfull to vets and those in service now. I cleaned this up from how I want to realy phrase it, America not perfect but by GOD the best damn place in the world.

I totally agree, if someone is not willing to maintain a good flag they shouldn't have one up. They should find some other way to show their support.

Something I think is even more of a disgrace though is people that buy a medal online and flaunt it off like they earned it. It's completely outrageous that anyone would do that. Just gets me so pissed off.

I have a lot of pride in what my country stands for within the roots of its existence: freedom and democracy, and I have high respect for those who serve in the military, especially since my grandfather served in WWII and Korea, and my uncle on my step-mother's side is currently serving in the Navy.

But it's marred by the damned politicians who fight over a LOT of petty things, and also cannot seem to prevent their personal beliefs from making logical decisions that will make our country better.  And in my opinion, the troops are dying for nothing over in the Middle East, as the threat will ALWAYS be there.  Time would be better spent making everything else secure through Homeland Security.

I'm glad I grew up here in America: that I have no doubt.  But live here?  I don't think I could.

The forums were a LOT nicer in December and January. I wave noticed tiny erosions in a lot of the politeness here. For the most part, most people are still the same people, no big deal--but I have seen more and more snide comments, and stupid posts that are incredibly off topic, just to correct someone, and usually with an antognistic attitude, adding a smiley as if to say "Hey! I am being an ass, but look at this cute smiley--so that means I am funny--right?"

Well this is getting old. I wish I could "ignore" the people who feel it necessary to spout off randomly like that, but I can't find that button to click--so I am ranting here. I have no desire to start karma slapping anyone, as they just won't get the hint, and they will think I am picking on them. But if you are "willfully impolite to others" around me, I will remember.

You'd be surprised how people get influenced by the karma hits.  As a member of DLO as well, I've seen a complete thread on how to "get and lose karma."

But overall, I'm in agreement, even though I know myself that I probably did it a couple times (correcting, that is, and it was never intended to be a d*****-bag statement).

Not everyone gets sarcasm, and very few people like sarcasm aimed at them in public. And when you mouth off in a public forum--uninvited, you are effectively pointing at them and shouting "Hey everyone! Look at this idiot!" You may not think so. But what if they do? Does that make them wrong?

I would advise making sure you KNOW the person before you start making jokes about them. Coming from a stranger, things have a far more powerful impact, and a far more unpredictable effect. It is ALWAYS fun to be the one with the pokey stick. Poking people is fun. getting poked is not always fun, and this is why people get angry when you walk up to them and poke them. YOU may think it is harmless fun--but unless YOU KNOW THEM (here--that means you have had a few discussions with them, and you are familiar with each other), it is a VERY GOOD IDEA not to shoot your mouth off, thinking you are being funny.

It could come back and bite you in the ass--and then you feel as if YOU were being picked on, because you had no idea that YOU were the one who started it.

Get it?

I am specifically asking you to THINK. Don't just automatically mouth off to (a:) newbies, and (b:) people you don't know will laugh and slap you right back. You may think you are funny, and the other person may think you are being an ass. After all, they did not ASK YOU to f*** with them. That is not a lot to ask. In fact, I don't like the fact that it even needs to be mentioned. This place was a lot friendlier and less asinine just 30 days ago.

Okay, I am done. I am no nanny, and I am tired of this already. I don't like getting angry, and I really don't like a--holes. I am seriously done with all of this.

You know what really Grinds my Gears?

Campers. Not Outdoors Camping, 'Campers'. Like in Multiplayer games.

For f***ing SERIOUS people! Stop it with the Camping! I can understand picking out a good spot to snipe from (I do it too) but at least move the frick around!

It's not even the campers that bother me, it's the SPAWN CAMPERS that really piss me off! No offence guys, but it's not cool, it's not 'funny' and it's not fun for the other players. I understand that sometimes thats just how it is when you spawn but for f***ing real? Forcing people into a position they can't fight back from just to boost your K/D Ratio isn't cool, nor does it make you a badass.

As someone who has gone 30 and 0 by running around with a M16 and a SPAZ-12, let me tell you, if you can do THAT, then you're a badass. Otherwise? Not impressed. (Side note: People freaking out because they think you have a nuke is freaking HILARIOUS.)

Fanfiction writers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a FFW myself. But I'm sick and tired of all these crappy, uneventful, poorly thought out, english-language-butchering peices of writing TRAGITY that people keep on slapping up into the world for everyone to see.

Beyond the Mary-sues, the Gary-Stus, the horrible yaoi or yuri parings that only exist in the writers sick, twisted mindset, they are a crime to humanity! Some of this stuff makes me want to give up all hope of humanity and just say "F*** Earth, Nuke it all."

But then I come here and read some of the well-written, planned out, and genuinly GOOD fanfiction that we have and I feel a bit better.

But seriously, for those Fanfiction Writers out there that are WAY TO SERIOUS, I have a few things I wish to ask of you:

First: Cool the @#$@ down and lower your testosteron or estrogin levels

Second: Pop that inflated ego before someone does it for you.

Third: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, TAKE A F***ING WRITING LESSON!!!!

Okay--campers SUCK! but spawn campers suck (bad sucky things) and should be physically flogged and banned from ever playing video games--everr!

Fan fiction. hmm... I have to be careful what i say here. I want to showcase Avatar fan-art, fan-fiction, and fan-well anything (especially fan-music) in the podcast, but I have to agree that some of it (how do I say this gently) "is not suitable for publication." But we will be needing QUALITY fanfiction for the podcast, so I hope we can find some that is usable.

But yeah, much of the fan-anything for any kind of topic is... unsutable for existance, to put it kindly.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around my first fic. I have a plot line and an outline but typing it up is another thing altogether. Stuff keeps happening in RL to keep me from writing how I want it to be.
