Ah, but would I be as well received talking about my faith?

He was explaining why Easter is the way it is, I thought it was rather informative, not something I would normally look up on my own.

Nah. :p I find you rather tolerant, which is honestly refreshing.

To live in the past is to die in the present.

In my view, religion is a controversial subject, regardless of the faith, its origins, or their quantity of membership.  Debate along these lines is often a subject of emotions, beliefs, and opinions.

All of these things are diverse, and can be discussed, but not at any time would it be acceptable to go into comparisons between differing religions because of the tendency for argumentative discourse rather than healthy debate.

If healthy debate can occur, then it would be wise to site resources, include supporting facts, point out the name and the nature of the source material which reinforces your perspective.  It is possible that this is not the typical format for your preference in religious discussion, but you should have to be truly historical and theological about it, leaning more towards analytical understanding rather than just belief or faith alone, as these are feelings which while they exist are mainly personal.

I would suggest that posts of a particular point of view stay on the one topic, and if a completely different point of view needs to be explicitly voiced, make it into a new thread.

This is not the place to attack people for what they believe.

This learnnavi.org board is about learning the language of Na'vi, and fandom of the Avatar movie(s) first and foremost.

It is probably best to limit religious discussion to items necessary for the aforementioned purposes, and take hard line religious debates to private discussions.
