Just for us to talk about mechs and nonsuch

Madcat Mk. II has jumpjets and reflective armor, so those 15 tons more don't add too much of a disadvantage, also considering that madcat Mk. II has better weaponry.  Also, the stilletto I talked about was the only one I know of: MechAssault 2 Lonewolf, which had flamethrower, gauss, and SRMs

mad cat MKI is vastly superior because it is capable of fighting for one hell of a long time without having to worry about ammo.
the mad cat MKII has what 12 shots for each gauss rifle?
not enough. not even nearly.
(and also the MKI is faster, looks cooler, is in more games and is my favourite mech)
Only mostly AWOL.

ZombiezuRFER

but Madcat MKI didn't have the jumpjets, but it did have reflective armor I remember.  PPCs are awesome, but I survive longer in the MK II.  It seems all the more survivable, and its got those four lasers instead of PPCs, which is really awesome.

laser = recycle rate 5secs power 2 range short
CERPPC = recycle rate 7.5secs power 11.25 range long.

argument settled.
Only mostly AWOL.

the mad cat mk II doesn't have enough ammo it's that simple
the mk I relies mainly on energy weapons over ballistic so does not need to worry about ammo
Only mostly AWOL.

these stats are Straight from the MechCorps Battletech website on the comparison

I know that but they do not take ammo into account
yes a mad cat mk II will beat a single mad cat in a straight fight.
but it would lose if it was constantly taking on a large number of smaller opponents because it would run out of ammo where as the mad cat mk I does not have this problem
Only mostly AWOL.

ZombiezuRFER

But if we take the salvage into account from Mechassault2 we get an unbeatable onslaught!  Ok, what do you think of Uziel?

allright as med mechs go but generaly med mechs are best advoided. light mechs and heavy mechs only
Only mostly AWOL.

ZombiezuRFER

I find myself slaughtering Madcats in it though, due to speed and maneuverability and jumpjets.  Its an awesome mech that can dodge missiles and PPCs, plus those missiles are nice.  And stiletto, isn't that one real good?

Only mostly AWOL.

it has a very poor weapon to tonnage ratio and it is slow....
and you don't need the silly amounts of armour if they are dead..
if you are bringing a assault mech bring a tukuna... or a dashi... or a mawisaki... or even a mauler but not the atlas
Only mostly AWOL.

Niwantaw

here 3 screens of MCX
Only mostly AWOL.
