a single sheet of paper can't decide my future
Ever heard "a pen is mightier than a sword?" One sheet of paper can "do" much more than just that...

"Nobody's right, if everybody's wrong."
-Buffalo Springfield?

I've been thinking recently about the "everybody can't be wrong" saying, and today, while for some reason paying attention to the lyrics (which I rarely do), of "For what it's worth," noticed this line. Why did the flower power days have to end?

Has it? I'd forgotten that.

While listening to some music by Deep Purple (inspired by Tìtstewan), one video had an interesting ad (of a washing powder brand).
"Who's the chef today?" - says the "host" to some children in a sandbox.
"I did make a cookie!" - one of them replies.
"Bravo! But who'll do the laundry?"

I realize "made" would sound more natural than "did make," but both "do" and "make" are "robić" in Polish, and it was the pivot of this "joke/pun(?)."
That's one of the reasons I stopped watching TV. The commercials are unbearable. Which is a shame, because some time ago, more ads were genuinely funny (even the "don't drive after drinking" ones).

"To love.  To be loved.  To never forget your own insignificance.  To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you.  To seek joy in the saddest places.  To pursue beauty to its lair.  To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple.  To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch.  To try and understand.  To never look away.  And never, never to forget."  --Arundhati Roy

I think most of us here can relate to this one:
"I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons.  It all exists, even if it's in your mind.  Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?" --John Lennon

My mnemonic for 矣 (classical final particle similar to modern 了, pronounced yi3): "eew, this particle is so old it has got covered in dust." (one of the characters for dust is 埃 (a bit more common nowadays, thus easier to remember), where it's the phonetic component)

阿波

Not sure if it qualifies as a quote, per se. It might be more of a saying:
"學海無涯"
Literally: sea of learning, no horizon. In other words, when you don't seem to see the limits of what you still have to learn. That's kinda how language learning feels to me some times.
