Refurbishing my 3 old computers to use as various types of servers. Blew out dust, washed heat sinks, and applied fresh thermal paste.
The oldest machine, a 2002 custom build with an ancient AMD Duron, runs Windows XP and will be used as a BOINC server for helping compute the SETI@Home project and other scientific research projects involving lots of computing.
The other two, which are identical HP machines from 2009, with an AMD Athlon II X4 620, 6GB DDR3 RAM, and onboard NVIDIA GeForce 9100 GPU. One will be used as a Minecraft server and the other one will be a spare for another project. Both of the HPs need hard drives before I can do any software changes.
