I have a similar problem.. I can't say I like vampires without having to point out that no self-respecting vampire sparkles -_- (speaking of which.. if Lestat (from the Vampire Chronicles) was less of a self-pitying downer he'd be perfect )

And though the Disney effect sounds nice and all, I have to say I prefer it when someone just grows on me. It makes for friendship and not just a romantic relationship.

My mother is into Twilight...   I've heard the books are really good, but the acting in the movies could be better.     I don't bother anyone what, or why they like  something, that's what makes us different, and common.  People who make fun of twilight, or Avatar fans are just immature, and have nothing better to do than to make someone feel like garbage, but in all actuality, I think the ones who make fun ARE the garbage.

I don't make fun of the fans.  I just don't like the series at all.  Besides, Harry Potter is better.

Either way, Avatar takes the cake.

Oh, another requirement, and a pretty specific one: she must not like Twilight, or if so, not much at all compared to HP and Avatar.

My idea mate is kind, loving, and treats me as his equal and as a friend. Someone that is compassionate, someone that loves unconditionally and respects others, especially a woman and her body/mind. Someone that loves me for who and what I am. Someone spiritual but open-minded, someone that is intelligent and funny. Someone that doesn't care what I look like and thinks I'm beautiful when I look (And feel like) crap. Someone that can make me smile on my worst days, someone I can confide in, share my soul with. Someone that likes an active, strong woman that's not afraid to speak her mind. Someone that can discuss and talk to me.

I don't think that exists on ANY planet.. but yeah..
