I made a new topic, for people if they want like signatures or icons or something. that i will make them for them. :)
and now i've realised, that u can't send pictures in private messages.
i think that would be a great idea. like an attachment :)

Yep, that's what I mean. You know, it'll be easier to sent someone a picture.

Unfortunately, the SMF software we use doesn't have an option for sending photos via PM.

Well, is exist some mods for SMF forums, which makes it possible to sent PMs with attachments, but if I think well about it, maybe it have a risk. Illegal file transfers could be going on in the background and the forum operators would have no idea about it.

Well thought.

Well, the size of the message database store, as well as the size of individual messages would be greatly inflated and might be a problem or more of a hassle to manage.  A server that might normally need a few GB to actually run (with text messages) could significantly increase the "minimum" operational size.  (Aka managing corporate Exchange Servers...)  Plus you now have the ability (if allowing attached files) for spam and virus re-distribution.  Hence needing an anti-virus PM/Email solution...  You can still put in file links of course and host your files externally...
