I felt that as it was an Avatar game, I should have the liberty to create my own avatar rather choosing 12 different characters, half of who's avatars look the same.

What I would have really liked to see is an Avatar game where you get to completely customise your avatar, have lots of different controls to use to make your avatar look similar like the real you. It would also be cool if the game had a first-person/third person sort of thing. The Avatar game's third person view was quite Gears of Wars-ish but still a fun camera angle to play war games.

In first-person, you would probably experience firsthand of what it really takes to be a true Na'vi ( possibly the way you use your bow, could account for accuracy and how far your arrow will project), and possibly the first person style would play out like Mirror's Edge. Imagine running around Pandora in first person view, climbing the Floating Mountains,  possibly even go through the ritual of youth, wrestling down an Ikran and fly it :D.

Also, it would be really cool to implement speech choices, like in Mass Effect, so that whatever you do affects your gameplay, the surroundings etc. As for story wise, I wouldn't be too sure how it would go though. I felt that the Avatar Game had some crappy story build up half way through and the ending was really bad, not even a challenge.

Anyway that is what I dream an Avatar Game to really be.

Oh man, if only infinity ward would cross the looks and controls of call of duty with Avatar... Christ, that would be my favorite game. Allyour ideas are really good. Especially the part about getting your Ikran :)

Yea, I would love to hope for a future Avatar game ( if it'd be possible for a game company to go further with the license ) that let's players fully experience being a real Na'vi, also the current Avatar - Game songs were just kinda meh, I wanted the exact songs from the movie put into the game.

I'm not sure if they'd be able to put the actual soundtrack in, but I'm sure it would be something real similar. The soundtrack after all, is epic win

Yeah, the wouldn't be able to put the soundtrack in because the soundtrack is meant for a movie, not a game. But I agree that something similar would be great.

Ok I'm going to attempt to put the best concepts of some of the best games together. Here goes...

For an RPG:

Facial customization from Fallout 3
acrobatics from Assassins Creed 2 and Prince of Persia
freedom to choose sides (RDA or Na'vi) from KotOR
freedom to choose class (warrior, hunter, tracker, etc.) from Shaiya
graphics from MW2
FREE ROAM from GTA
quests to complete for exp from any RPG you can think of
karma based (do something good=gain karma. Bad=loose) from Fallout 3
leveling up with the entire package (strength, agility, blah blah blah) from KotOR

for FPS:

blood and gore from gears of war 2
epic large scale gun battles because no other game has those
aeial combat with either ikran or scorpion (depending on he side you choose)
fast paced escape or pursuit scenes from gears of war 2
basic conquest from MW2
deathmatch from MW2
variety of weapons from the movie and some new ones
heavy vehicles for each side (amp suit=thanator)
attack dogs (dogs for humans and domestic vipervolves for na'vi
horde from gears of war 2

k tell me what you think...

well put... but i'd like to do whatever i want rather than choose a side, and have an open world like in Oblivion.

Free play like Oblivion is something that gives players an infinite amount of freedom. To do anything. You're not quite tied down to a rigid storyline, yet you can still enjoy and experience the main quest line (story arc) in whatever way you feel like. There's at least 15 clans within the near regions of Pandora. So there's plenty of other interactions, and sub-quests, faction quests, etc. Pandora is a huge and varying environment. Tons of places to explore and visit. Throw the player into the world of Pandora, and let him or her roam to their heart's content. Integrating the Na'vi/human player selection may be a bit different in this case. Whether it be choose to be na'vi or human, or choose to play each as a "race" (as you do in oblivion). Either way, free form play is one of my favorites.
See that shadow? It's the last one you're gonna see.

It'd be nice if in next-generation games ( hopefully Avatar included ) have this facial recognition where it'll scan your photo and generate your character's looks as close as possible. It'd be really cool especially for an Avatar game since everyone here is dying to see an avatar of themselves.

yeah no bonding with a single ikran was a bit of a downer for me when i played hte game. although i think the game should be more Mass Effect style than Mirrors Edge i just dont think teh concept would work as well if it were in a jungle. although i agree with you about wrestling the Ikran it would be awsome

Yeah, I enjoyed the game but my biggest question was why they didn't use assassin's creed style acrobatics, it would have been perfect and made the game more vertical.

Hufwe Makto

Play prince of Persia (the new one) if you want to see vertical. It's basically all on walls and cielings. Those are the acrobatics we need in the game. Same with the combat. VERY acrobatic.

Ikranä mokri

i like prince of persia its just button bashing with rythem and your right they shuold have used assassins creed like controls

Indeed, the game was set too much on the ground, and you weren't able to climb anything. And their tails looked kind of wierd...

My other ride is an Avatar.

Hell, why not just petition Bethesda to be in charge of the Avatar games? :P
Bethesda's game engine is awesome. Combine it with the world of Pandora and we got a game full of epic awesomeness. The issues, however, may be with the flying from my point of view. Such as ariel encounters (if you play as Na'vi, how would you effectively fight off an RDA Samson, RDA Scorpion, or Toruk? Not to mention rival clans on their ikran.) But overall, I think this idea is brilliant!

Ikranä mokri

we should petition like a games designer bethesda or bioware or infinty ward and see if theyll take up the challenge of making a decent Avatar game

it would be pretty cool i think and we definately need a new game
