Kaltxì, I've seen avatar twice in 2D now, and oe was wondering what you guys thought about the 3d. Basically, was it good?

Txontaw

It was awesome. Cameron didn't try and shove it in your face, all he did was make the scenes have more depth. It really helped suck you into the movie more than it already does.

Yeah, a few friends told me it was pretty awesome but I wanted word from experts.
I'm glad it's not one of those 'obvious 3D movie is obvious' jobs like spy kids. Rofl

I've seen the 2D presentation as well as several showings in IMAX 3D, and the added depth and dimension is absolutely fantastic.

Tirealì'u

You haven't seen it in 3D?

Then why are you posting and not watching it? :-P

Eanikran

hahah, cause its 11:40  :P
but I'm going tomorrow  ;D

I've only seen it in 3d, but my experience is that it's so well integrated that you almost forget it's 3d for long periods of time. Also, occasionally, and more often if you sit too close to the front of the theater, your eyes will try to focus on the wrong thing. I'd say it's definitely worth seeing in 3d.

That's the only problem with 3D; you have to focus on what they want you to focus on, because things not in focus won't come into focus when you focus on them (XD).

i disagree! there is a difference between IMAX 3D and realD 3D. and in imax 3D the only problem i saw that could relate to focusing is how the camera focused on the things in the movie. which someone might misconcieve as their ownselves not being able to focus on the 3D. i havent noticed anything wrong with the IMAX 3D. i actually believe the CG looked more real in the IMAX 3D. but that could just be me

Good morning everybody (at least in my country it is morning right now :) )

I've seen the movie 3-times in 3D, I'll see it again on Sunday and on next Tuesday I want to see that in IMAX 3D theatre.

I quess the 3D can add more intensive experience to the story. Things will be more plastical. (or what the hell ... in English)
I'm afraid that experience won't be the same at home on my computer.

If anybody could see it in 3D, do it 'cause it is awesome.

The only things that 'come to you' are the seeds Eywa. The rest is 3D like you see the world around.  I mean, right now, you see your computer screen, in 3D, but it doens't come right to you right? Well, it's quite the sime  ;)

Avatar in 3D is "good" in the same way winning the £50million lottery might be considered "a bit lucky" ;)
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.       - John Stuart Mill

I'm going today so oe will tell you feedback..
wait..
What am I asking..? It's Avatar we're talking about  ;D

I've only saw it in Imax 3D, and I forgot that I was watching a movie several times! If you can, I highly suggest you watch it at an Imax theater.

The IMAX 3D version is amazing.

After about an hour you'll realise you've completely forgotten it's in 3d. It becomes so immersive that it seems like the most normal way in the world of watching a movie. You'll even stop trying to grab Neytiri (much to the relief of the girl sat in the seat infront of you).

Then after that, every so often something will catch your attention and you'll be all "Wow, look how cool that is in 3-f'n-D".

Finally, you'll go home, switch on the TV and turn it off again. There's no point watching those crappy 2D pictures on your tiny screen.

Tsepxor

I have yet to see it in IMAX 3D but unfortunately, the nearest one of those is 60 miles away. I have seen it in RealD 3D though and apparently it is graphically better and that IMAX is more for sound.

Go see it again in either 3D, it is awe inspiring ;)

Yea. Living in spain I have the same problem with the whole 3D thing so just normal versions for me thus far  :-\, being that there are only 3 places I think in spain that does it!

Though this week I am thinking of going to one of the bigger cities via train to see if the 3D hype lives up to it.

Menari Eywayä

I saw it in  3D this week, and it was absolutely wonderfull. IT was the most beautifull thing i've ever seen. My friend had told me it was soso, but i think it depends where you are in the theatre. I was way at the back, and it was just perfect. Really, for me it was not only a movie, it was an experience. I got out there without knowing what to say, as well as my friend. When it finished, we took off our glasses, looked at each other and said 'wow' ... theres no other word. In fact, i think there is no word to describe this movie. You absolutely have to see it! I am going back next week!
