One thing I noticed that is one of my favorite things about both Avatar and Wall-E, is that they both have the hero landlocked some time in the film but then later in the film he is finally able to share the air with his heroine.
In Wall-E, the hero watches Eve fly around on the earth after she first lands, acting free and having fun zooming around, because in her normal job she is very regimented and not allowed to "have fun" like that, and it makes Wall-E want to fly like that, but he can't because he has no flight capability.  The same thing with Jake.  Neytiri flies around him on her Ikran, and he's fascinated and just smiling at the whole idea of doing that, she even buzzes his head making him duck, but she's in her element, it's obvious that both Neytiri and Eve love to fly.
Then later in the movie, once they are out in space, Wall-E, with the use of a fire extinguisher is finally able to fly with Eve and it's like they are rediscovering each other all over again and it adds a whole new note to their relationship.  The same for Jake.  The joy Neytiri physically shows once he gets his Ikran, and I think one of the most beautifully fluid motion scenes in the whole movie, when she runs to Seze and jumps on and plummets down the cliff in pursuit of him, all in one fluid motion, is just amazing and always puts a hitch in my chest, as I wish I had an Ikran and someone special to fly with me like that.
In each movie, two hearts are joined in the ecstasy of flight.  Some of my favorite scenes from Avatar are the flying scenes.  I'm gettin' all emotional again just thinking about them.  I have a little project I'm fiddling with about my Ikran, which I'll share here a little later, once it's well underway.  Stay tuned.
I know many of you, if not all of us here on this forum have a deep, emotional connection to Avatar, we wouldn't be learning the language if we didn't.  But wow, to fly like that.  At this point, only in dreams.....
Time for bed now, and dreams of flying the skies of Pandora........ :)

I can see that [connection]. But, I must say that Avatar was much better than Wall-E.  ;) Wall-E was bad.

It was okay but when I saw it with my friends, we were all enjoying our time together.

I understand that. Sometimes the best part of the experience is simply social time.

I liked that WALL-E also took on the big corporation idea. WALL-E and this corporation, Buy n Large, is this giant company that now controls all life on earth and in space on the Axium. Granted RDA wasn't as big of a company, but it did intend to control Pandora as well. Both touch on the lack of humanity that can occur when you allow corporations to define what the public does rather than question it and control the business as a consumer or an employee.
