Well, everyone knows it's going to get Best Graphics, but beyond that, it's pretty fuzzy.

If they didn't get something to do with special effects at least, something would be wrong.

We would have to hunt the academy; pick them off one by one. My Ikran is getting hungry, anyway. May as well cause death for a good purpose.  8)

Sounds like a good plan. I could deal to some particularly pesky people...  :D

100% win for Best Special Effects, 75% chance for Best Director and ....25-50%ish for Best Original Score? Don't get me wrong, I loved the score but...its quite ambiguous.

I recently watched the Critic's choice awards and Avatar did win quite a few awards, however Hurt Locker won Movie of the year which sucks.

Hurt locker is an Iraq war drama, which would probably appeal more to the critics, as Iraq is a big political issue. Avatar would probably win if it was up to the people.

! What does that mean?

Anyways back on topic, seeing that Avatar won best director and picture at the golden globes, I strongly believe there is a fair amount of chance that Avatar will win more than one Oscar  ;D

I predict a 75% chance of special effects, maybe more.

50% chance for best director.

and maybe around the same for Original score. I'd say the Avatar score is absolutely awesome. But to be fair it's not that original, James Horner is very consistent with his music, listen to The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Enemy at the Gates OST and you will recognise a lot of things from the Avatar OST.

However I really hope they get some recognition for Art direction, not sure who the other contestants are but I, for one, loved the Art of Avatar so so much, I read it within about an hour of getting it and I still lose my mind to the Pandoran artwork.

Yeah true beans

it most DEFINITELY must win the special effects

i mean, if it doesn't there will be an uproar and hell will freeze over!

No way in Pandora Avatar wouldn't win the special effects award!

I meant it more like "We can hope," but "hope" is not in the Na'vi dictionary. :P

I concur!
