And that's right, back to IMAX with DELETED SCENES!!! Amazingness in the theaters once more! As if Avatar didn't make enough money already...

I've figured Avatar would be released again into theaters sometime this summer.  The idea of doing it with deleted scenes included is a great one, though.  As long as there's a way/time to work it into whatever contracts theaters have already taken part in, I see no reason why they wouldn't.  Avatar in theaters with deleted scenes = big money for Fox.

Phoenix? As in Arizona... well duh, there really is only 1 actual phoenix. Nice! WE'll be glad to have you here in the desert!

This seems quite odd, considering that Cameron has stated in a few interviews that he really doesn't like to do extended editions, that he feels that the theatre version is the director's cut. But you never know.

^He did say that he cut out the FULL Tsu'tey death scene right before release, so he might throw that back in there, plus what ever else he feels like doing.

Thanks, I am actually from Phoenix but i am going to school in missouri at moment. Hopefully I will be moving back permanently a bit less than a year and a half. If it does re-release and I am out there i would totally be down for a meet-up!

Just out of curiosity(and admittedly, a bit off topic) is there anyone in New York on this forum?

I do hope Avatar gets a summer rerelease, I only saw it a few (9) times.

Try the community map and meetup forum here. I skimmed through but didn't see a New York thread.

Yes, I heard there are 40 minutes of deleted scenes. I really hope they DO re-release it again in extended edition just like what they did with LOTR.

My god. I'll go bankrupt if they rerelease it with deleted scenes!!

Hmm I wonder if re-releasing it would qualify it for the Oscar's again.

Hmm, I think I have to have a word with the local cinemas manager. He's expanding anyway so why not IMAX-style?
Otherwise I'd have to go drive an hour before reaching one (spoiled german, I know :D)

I would really like to see Real3d style polarization on IMAX sized screen. Circular polarization prevents the typical double-image that you see when you have to look up or down in IMAX and you are not sitting at the sweet spot.
They also should upgrade sound at local real3d auditoriums to match the one at IMAX - no double-image means you can sit closer, so the screen fills the whole field of view without issues.
I've tried to sit closer in IMAX once, due to the theater being somewhat full, but it was awfull during previews, so I moved to a side spot at the back - I'm really sorry for people who come later and have to be there - you always see a ghostly second image there...
Where is my NDD fix?

I'm not sure how that will effect the pacing of the movie. There would be almost two pivotal scenes back to back, and i dunno about that just yet. The emotional power behind tsu-tey's death scene may over ride the emotions felt at the end of Jake's fight with Qaritch. But I'd have to actually see it before i make an opinion. JC himself said the emotional power behind tsutey's death scene was overwhelming, even to some of the actors and crew.
See that shadow? It's the last one you're gonna see.
