Kaltxi aysmukan! I am wondering where I can buy Avatar on DVD at MIDNIGHT specifically (Eastern Time) on Thursday. Does anyone know what stores would be open and have copies of the movie in stock at midnight? Is anyone else buying it then too? Irayo!

I have no specific intel, but I would assume every wal-mart would be selling it, no reason why they wouldn't.

Wal-Mart is what i found on Google too, so that's probably where I'll go. It's gonna be pretty epic.

If there are any MovieStops in your area as well, they will be holding a midnight. It's where im going =P

As to "in-person events." I hear WalMart (the 24-hour ones at least, and maybe the ones that are usually open late) are having a midnight release; but I haven't found a Borders, or any place that would have a fun "Harry Potter-like" party.

If you ordered from Amazon (and probably the same from B&N you will have it on your doorstep by tomorrow afternoon--unless you just ordered it or something. They have had a standing guarantee. They are shipping them all 2-day air (or 1-day air if necessary) as a way to compete with Walmart. As to Fred Myer. I have never heard of it. But that sounds regional, or local, which means you will probably have a LOT more fun than at a multi-national store (unless that m.l.c. outlet is in, say Hollywood ). Oh poo! I just realized! On either Sunset or Hollywood Blvd there are a few Borders, and there is Amoeba music (right by the Cinerama Dome, which had the avatar props fo--evah!) and they might be doing something. And I am 2 hours away. I need to hit google---

I went to Fred Meyer and that store being regional means I did not die trying to get my copy in fact I was the first in line and the last out the door for Avatar at least in Tacoma WA
