The movie Avatar is absolutely gorgeous, and there are fabulous little things always going on in the background. So I submit to you all this challenge, watch the movie again, and try your hardest to not watch the logical subject of the scene. So if Jake is talking watch the people, the forest, or the landscape around him. Hrh, I have tried and never succeeded to make it through the whole movie without falling into watching the main subject.

Good luck and tell me how it works out for you all!  ;D

After having seen the movie so many times and getting bored with the main subjects, I start noticing other things.  To name a few:

I think I could do this for every scene except the ones with Neytiri ;)

I've noticed quite a bit in the scenes in Hell's Gate.

Just one thing I've noticed :You can see in one of the scenes (I think it was right after Trudy and Max bail Jake and them out), that they still seem to use fluorescent lighting, or something that looks exactly like it.

I'm gonna have watch again some time (likely this weekend), and pay closer attention to all the outdoors scenes.

Just when Jake is going in his hammock you can see below a big hammock, were more then one Na'vi sleep on, maybe its a family hammock

There also isn't a single that I have watched the DVD without singing along where they sing like at Jake's First Flight, except when they eat at night and Jake comes in for first time I don't sing along on that part.

I don't know anything about Tsu'tey father ( don't know if he is alive either ) but I think I saw him, when Jake comes in when they eat at night, Jake sits down and says Hello to the Na'vi, that Na'vi kinda has the same face ( structure ) as Tsu'tey

I read somewhere on Pandorapedia that those bigger open hammocks are used for more than just sleeping.  I read that they are also used for clan bonding.

I was under the impression that the family group in the background in teh scene was on just a platform. It certainly didn't look flexible like a hammock, or maybe I was just too busy watching neytiri :)
