Umm...there's not a lot to comment on, probably because any of us could have seen this coming from a thousand miles away. But yeah, Avatar is likely to be the best-/fastest-selling DVD or Blu-Ray ever.

I'll be seeing my copy for the first time tonight; I was, um...inconvenienced by schoolwork yesterday.

Avatar is the #1 grossing movie. DVD sales are likely to follow. Sadly, merchandising has been slow to keep pace.

I think merchandizing is not their interest right now.  Milking out as much money that they can from simply the movie and DVD is their main focus, and I think they believe that focusing on merchandise will cause the work with the DVD/movie to slow down.
