yeah the part where Neytiri actually meet's the real jake was a very powerful scene him being frail and her being so lovingly strong. i love it when she say's "jake...! My Jake!!"

Yeah, totally agree.

(And btw, it's not "my Jake", actually. It's "ma Jake", with ma being a vocative particle, which is used when adressing someone.")

I was waiting on someone pointing that out :D

"You don't dream in cryo" they say. Good! Imagine a 6-year-nightmare!

I remember when seeing the movie for the first time, and I thought that the "ma" was used between two people who'd mated, 'cause Ney and Jake started to use it alot after that scene!

Therefore I always feel a bit awkward when using it, speaking to strangers on this website.  :P

Nattiri

As for me, the most sensible scene is the meeting of Neytiri and real Jake. So powerful!I couldn't but burst to tears.  :'(

Remember though when Tsu'tay and his hunting party capture Jake when he first chases after Neytiri, she addresses him as "Ma Tsu'tay..."

<MulleDK19> Yesterday I started with "A man was walking along the road, and suddenly got hit by a wheelchair going 250 miles per hour"
<MulleDK19> it ended with: "Death of a wheelchair - On the road since 1250"

Yeah, I know. It was just a mistake on my part that has stuck with me subconsciously.  :P

I say when Neytiri sees Jake in his human body

and despite imperfections (jake being paraplegic etc.) she still loves him

aawwww the Na'vi...

at least they aren't very shallow

When Jake first steps into his Avatar body, and just HAS TO RUN!

When Jake reveals that he knew about the Skypeople's plan all along, and Neytiri is absolutely heartbroken.

When Neytiri and Jake (in his human form) see eye-to-eye for the first time.  So great.

The name you're looking for is Seze. It refers to a type of Pandoran flora and means "blue flower".

I consistently tear up at least a half-dozen times throughout the movie.

I'm particularly fond of Jake and Neytiri's heads-together simultaneous inhale at the Tree of Souls after Jake delivers his warning to Eywa. There's something about that brief, silently harmonious moment between them that really underscores their bond for me.

Agreed

I cried a little the first time I watched it when the Home Tree was destroyed and all Na'vi were crying and when Neytiri's father died, too. The second time I cried when Jake explained Neytiri why he was there and she got mad and said: "You will never be one of the people!"

It takes a LOT for a movie (or TV, or music) to affect me emotionally. But the instant I heard the wood from the trunk of the Hometree begin to crack...I almost lost it in the theater. The sheer upwelling of emotion was unlike anything I'd ever experienced from a movie. The words going through my head to describe Quaritch at that time are some of the most unsavory things you've ever heard. I had found that magical moment when for a split second you forget that you're watching a movie, and have feelings for the characters as though they were real...THAT is why this movie is so damn good. It made me care. And when Neytiri cried out "Eywa has heard you!" near the end, the same thing. On the brink of waterworks.

I can count on one hand the number of movies that have brought out that moment of caring. It is, without a doubt, the number one reason why a film is "good".
