I am wondering what the something creative will be?

QuoteWe're going to assess that. We're talking about maybe adding in additional footage and doing something creative.

thought this was funny:

QuoteDepending on who our strategic alliances are with, we'll either put out our (intellectual property) and make it available for licensing or put it into a pool or whatever it is, or we'll be in the suing people business for a long time. We figured this stuff out empirically six or seven years ago and we patented it. If people try to do it the way we've done it on Avatar they'll get a phone call.

I believe this is what Technowraith is referring to.

I've been seeing avatar free since Screening 40.

One can only hope it's re-released.  I never had a chance to see it in I-MAX 3D  My local theater always gets it's new movies much later than their release date, so by the time I saw it and realized how amazing it was, the nearest I-MAX was down to one last showing and there was no way I could make it :'(

Ahh jeeze I just remembered, I spend so much time at the theater that the manager (and most of the ticketing staff) are on a first name basis. At least they don't charge me full price anymore. I am really glad to see an extended version in theaters, my question. How mainstream will it be, will it be in a place like Regal Cinema in real-D or an AMC/IMAX thing? I read that Jim was angery that the US theater's kicked his movie out when they did to make room for new 3D movies, forecasters estimate that had it stayed in US theaters as long as it has been in other theaters the total could be near US $11 billion.

Theaters started pulling it on the 5th to make room for Alice. Forecasters estimate that US theaters alone would have made Avatar over 8 billion dollars in 31 days??? ::)

Cameron said they had lost a couple of hundred million:
