Deleted scene from after the bar, hadn't seen it posted yet and thought you'd enjoy!

QuoteI09 recently got a hold of the above still of Jake Sully, which takes place after the deleted bar fight scene.  In the scene, Jake Sully sees some guy slap a woman and decides to give him a paraplegic-style beat down. But fighting someone else's fight and trying do the right thing only gets him thrown out, where he lies in the street, sprawled in the shape of a crucifix.  Now, I know what you're thinking, bros – "A biblical allusion — in a sci-fi movie?!?  That's insane!"

But it's true.  James Cameron went there.  Turns out Avatar was even more of a game changer than we thought.

Game.  Changer.
Avatar is a movie about a guy with blue balls running through the forest chasing tail.

Or....  He was just sprawled out on the ground.  I know I'm going out on a vul there...

I'm pretty sure its a joke.

Sarcasm doesn't work well on the internet...

you can see Jake in the bar in the HD trailer

AVATAR - Official Launch Trailer (HD)

also, if you're lucky enough to be watching Avatar in IMAX (1.73:1 aspect ratio) then you will see he's wearing the same Harley Davidson t-shirt when he's talking to the RDA folks early in the film.  Unfortunately, you can't see this if you're watching in real-d 3d or dolby 3d because the 2.35:1 aspect ratio cuts it off (along with 30% of the whole movie)

Well to tell the truth this is not the first time a science fiction title has gone all "biblical". Battlestar Galactica has done this way before Avatar (last episode of season 1 when Adama gets shot, he sprawls on the table like Jesus - with iconic characters surrounding him). Things like these can get into movies, but whether or not we give importance is another thing.

I suppose one could at least look at it as a foreshadowing of things to come, but that would put you into conflict with other religions. Thus I think it's just a simple reference. A certain motif in the movie similar to some recurring themes: Jake's arm tattoo looking similar to his Avatar pattern or the way he has his hair shaved in the beginning versus how his Avatar will have his hair shaved later on in the movie.
