I'm just wondering how Tsu'tey kind of instinctively knew to ask the question, "Did you mate with this woman?"  Was there a little scene left out where he might have seen them enter the area alone, or even caught them mating, or is there a difference in Na'vi bioluminescence before and after mating?  How did he know to ask that question right then?  What made him suspect?  The fact that they were holding hands?  It just seems like there's a little piece missing in there somewhere.   ???

Well considering that he was right there when the Trees of Voices were destroyed I assume he was going to pray or something and stumbled across them, but the bulldozers came before he got a chance to attack.

Tsu'Tey was there as Jake was attacking the bulldozer, he could have seen Jake and Neytiri together from across the grove.  That would have been a lot for him to take I think, I would have been a bit upset if I suspected my fiance was schtupping someone else.

Poor Tsu'Tey, this movie was very, very cruel to him.

If I may be so bold, I suspect there is some backstory at work with the Tsu'tey/Neytiri dynamic.

Maybe it is just me, but Tsu-tey seemed more possessive of Neytiri than in love with her. And during all he rtime with Jake, we never saw her talking (at least on-screen) about how she is "fated to be with another". She never seemed to be particularly interested in him, and despite their fate to become a mated pair she not only seemed more or less happy hanging around with Jake but also seemed to enjoy needling Tsu'tey whenever he tried to bully Jake.

That and the fact that Mo'at assigned Neytiri to work with Jake... I suspect she knew that they'd form a bond that would undermine Tsu'tey. Just my theory.

When Tsu'tey was angry about them mating, he seemed more upset that Jake had taken something that was supposed to be his-- something that was his right, maybe? Maybe he saw Jake not taking his love, but threatening his eventual ascension to clan leadership.

And Tsu'tey got over his anger rather quickly, and accepted Jake as the winner in that situation. Of course, Jake became the sixth Toruk Makto, so he just automatically deferred to Jake since... that's what you do to Toruk Makto.

I wonder if Mo'at felt that Tsu'tey didn't really have the right temperament to be a good leader; maybe she felt he was too hotheaded or selfish, and when Jake came along (who was apparantly 'chosen by Eywa') she took the opportunity to assign Neytiri to Jake and start easing Tsu'tey out of the picture. She may be thinking "this guy is Tawtute, but Eywa likes him for some reason so I'll roll the dice".

*sigh* and that's why you don't send a paraplegic that probably has gotten any in a while into a forest with hot blue princess.

That is horrible! Shame! (Not really, I laughed really hard when I saw this)

I was sad when he died, because he became cool after Jake became Toruk Macto. He was cool before, but he was too hot-headed, and that alienated me from him slightly, no pun intended.

ROFL, that video wa hillarious! xD

But, slightly off topic?

I agree, theres alot of good scenes. I also like the first flight and the scene where Neytìri is telling jake he needs to find a woman.

Actually, i have a question about that. I was wondering if the Na'vi would make 'tsaheylu' when they mate?

Ok, thats really interesting, imo.
Thanks for the response. =)

See if it's only bonding like that, it's not really sexual content per se. I may be wrong, they could have shown that and gotten away. But the whole sequence is really a masterpiece.

From what I've seen I'd suppose it was a mixture of both. So they probably made the bond and then did the nasty, because honestly most American audiences are going to want some action if there's a love scene, just making the bond would probably alienate (lol pun?) and weird most people out.

"did the nasty" :D never heard it called that. I'm gonna use that in the future

When the Na'vi mate, they mate for life. They use their Queues to link their minds like with the Ikran. They are devoted to that person forever. When they mate, they enact Tsahaylu. They do not enact Tsahaylu with each other unless they are mated.

I am assuming that mated couples get to do snusnu as often as they want once they are mated. If you are asking if they get to choose someone else later if they don't like the person they chose, I am assuming not. The same when someone dies I am assuming.

For both times I saw the movie, I was shivering from adrenaline during the last half.

Most touching scene?

Definitely when Jake came out of the pod and said ~"everything's backwards now"

Most Inspiring: When Jake gives his Toruk Makto speech.  I was like "WHERS MAH IKRAN, I GOTS A WAR TO FIGHT!!"

Most Heartbreaking: Dr. Augustine's death.  It seemed so sick to me that she had to die.  Out of all the damn scientists on the damn compound she was the one that understood not only the Na'vi, but all of Pandora.  It was amazing when she was like "I'm with her..."  I cried like a little girl who dropped her ice cream. X_X

Hawnuyu atìtse'a

Ironic how she said i would die to get samples, no? I started a 3-page thread with that.
