An interesting question is what happened to Jake's ikran. We don't see it after he jumps on the greatlyenupteryx.

I think it may have went back to the mountains. Since the leonopteryx wasn't needed after the war, he let it go. This leads me to believe he still has his ikran.

Since Ikran bond for life, I'd assume Jake could still call on his in the future.  The leonopteryx was just for show, both to raise the hopes of the Na'vi with the coming of the fifth (Sixth?) toruk makto, and as a show of force (Such as it were against gunships) in the battle.

Clearly the Ikran and Toruk are pretty much a closely related species, I wonder if in zeheylu the bond is also for life.  From what I gather that 'bond' doesn't mean anything but the fact that only one person can ride them. thus, you're not like married monogamous to it, so you could ride other species just fine.

Does zeheylu mean Direhorse? If so, they don't have a life-long bond.

I think I misspelt it, but Zeheylu or whatever is the bond made between a Na'vi and an another animal itself. (using the ponytail thing)  Direhorse is 'pa'li' in Na'vi.

To answer your question, I think it would still be for life with the Toruk. Though it probably won't matter, seeing as no other Na'vi will likely try to join with it.

I was checking the spelling for rider, and I got Makto which is the verb ride.  Do we need a suffix on this? or is it just Toruk Makto (Rider of last shadow).

well following warrior (tsamsiyu) and hunter (Taronyu) one can infer that the suffix -yu is 'one who does the verb' ... or roughly the english 'er'

I'd say that if Makto is to ride, rider would be Maktoyu.

Toruk Makto is a title, so perhaps the literal translation is 'To Ride the Last Shadow'
