So, this has been bugging me for a while. In the movie, the book on the Na'vi that Jake holds up is spelled NA'Vi, what's with the lowercase 'i'? Any ideas?

Probably an oversight most likely.
See that shadow? It's the last one you're gonna see.

I wish someone had a picture of the book.
It's been a while since i saw Avatar and I'd like to see what the book looked like again.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that it says "Na'Vi". Isn't that an alternate capitalization of Na'vi?

That would make sense.

It definitely says NA'Vi - I remember because I was taking care last time I watched to try and see the author's name, and I noticed at the same time the strange capitalization.  I vote it's just a mistake (shock horror!)

Well, I imagine that the book cover art was done by the WETA people and I'm sure they didn't entirely coordinate with Frommer on it and I bet they just thought it looks cool and interesting (which it does).

Heck, perhaps that's Grace's way of spelling NA'Vi

but JC is a crazy perfectionist!!!111one

it must be there for a reason!  Maybe the capital V represents femininity.

I suspect it was a conscious stylization choice by the books' graphic designer and not a mistake. Any prop in a production of Avatar's scale goes through multiple rounds of iteration and is evaluated by many eyes. Such a mistake would not have persisted through to the final version of the prop.
