Okay, I know we're all fans and all, but really?

I have to admit that I'm one of those people who went through borderline depression, but the difference is that I recognize that I'm being ridiculous and so I try to get over it. I did feel like my life is a total waste after the movie (and still do sometimes) but I realize that I'm 15 years old and hormones can be nasty buggers. I can't say why only certain people fell depressed afterwards, but then again I'm not a psychologist or neural chemist. While I did feel like this, I was able to realize I wasn't going to be able to do much about it and moved on, and tried to learn a fictional language.

Oh my god, how ridiculous.

In an interview, James Cameron said something along the lines of "Pandora is a fictional world, its not real. But we're here on earth and we're lucky enough to have this beautiful planet to live on. I want this movie to inspire people to see the beauty in our own planet and safe it from destruction."

All of these annoying Avatards need to read this and grow up. Complaining about the earth 'sucking' and wanting to leave and live on Pandora is ridiculous. Seriously, rehab with Eywa?

Get over yourselves, that's just creepy.

Ahh, "Avatards". I like it. The zombie/Trekkie/red-headed step-children of Avatar fandom.

I guess we're official. We now have the creepy sub-set we won't officially mix with at parties.  ;D

Suppose it was only a matter of time before they came.

Where there's geeks, there will be creeps.

When you're socially ostracized by the sci-fi geeks, you need to sit down and give some serious thought to where you're going with things!  ;)

The sci-fi geeks learning a made up language.  ::) That's actually pretty hilarious. And strangely sad.

Stop making me doubt my coolness factor.

I'm still normal, I promise!!

As long as folks remember it's all just for fun, there's no problem. Everybody has hobbies, you know, things that technically are unproductive but which we find amusing.

Now, trying to cash a check or talk your way out of a speeding ticket by speaking Na'vi is just asking for trouble.

Like that person that showed up for jury duty in a Starfleet uniform, insisting to be called "commander"... mmmm, yeah:-\

As I constantly argue with my parents, at least I'm not spending all day playing flash games. No offense to those who do, but learning a language (even a fictional one) is a sight more productive than that.

As much as I'd like to tell you that I resent being lumped into the category of "overreacting hormonal adolescents", I have to remind myself that I am one, no matter how many big words and Star Trek references I use. Dangit.

I would like to reiterate that i am not denying the extreme emotional reactions that i had while watching Avatar.  I had them, lots of them.  I would laugh and cry with the characters.  When Jake and Neytiri escaped Toruk, i chuckled involuntarily along with them.  When the RDA mowed down the tree, I felt my eyes tear up, especially looking at the devastation on Neytiri's face.  There were many times during the movie when i said to myself "I wish i could be there, in that world, and be one of them."

The difference is, when the movie ended, i was exhilarated by the experience and i recognized that the world was fictional.  The feeling of wanting to be in a fictional setting is not in the least bit new to me, but i never felt depression that that wasn't possible.  It's just simply another daydream.

It's when things are taken beyond simple daydreams that things become an issue.

NPA? I thought the corporation was called RDA. What are your referring to?

Well, like fox news, some little dude in my head forgot to double-check for veracity before putting something out for all to see, and thus you get..... whatever that was.

You're right, its RDA.  I'm a moron.  (how would you say that?  Oel something skxawngti?)

Ahh okay.  I thought lu (to be) was transitive, but now that i think about it, i see how it's not

Yeah! We're a happy  kind of insane. And as for Coyote, I'm not saying that being a teenager is a bad or even annoying thing. I'm just saying that most of the "unhappy insanes" as we might put it, tend to be unhappy hormonal teenagers.

I love teenagers. Some of my best friends are teenagers. I still think I am a teenager (twenty really isn't that much better than nineteen, let me tell you). ;D

Not as hilarious and strange as learning an almost dead language in school (latain) .
I wanted you to know

I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph
I know it serves me well

^^ lol. It has turned me into a grammar nut on the forums, whether that's good or bad I don't know.

And as for the "unhappy" insanes, live and let live. Hold on.
