Hmm, so I'll have to wait for the DVD...
Or watch it again. And again. And again until I can make it out.

The second (large) block of Unobtanium is about the middle of the desk, on the visitors side. You can see it best when Parker and Quaritch are "discussing" the attack on hometree - the scene were Parker is playing around with the floating block before he's leaning back.
I will need to look for that, I am going to see if I can take a few friends and see avatar again (time 28  ;D) and take some notes. I have also been looking for stills and hopefully in sort of like a commentary or interview Parker will give us a short tour of his office (like when they film interviews and put as extra content on the dvd sort of like a Q&A) or the camera angles will be good.

I recently examined the Hell's Gate compound as shown in the video game and see:
It's almost the same. The basic layout of the buildings, placement of areas inside and interiors seems to be identical.
Quite logical: If you have the complex as a set of computer generated images anyway why not transfer this into your game engine and save loads of time that can be wasted otherwise.
And funny thing: "The Office" contains the bow (a different one but on the same spot), the showcase on the right wall behind the desk (ingame it's holding a warrior staff), the shelf with some trinkets (the lunar lander is present, along with a baseball, some coffee mugs and an unreadable plaque) and the block of Unobtanium is in the front of the desk.
Seemed to be on the same spot, right towards the door of the office.
Considering the size I think I should try to make some guess on the mass/weight. After all, Unobtanium is a superheavy element.

I agree with the use of the RDA complex from the movie in the game. And nice work spotting that (I don;t have the game yet waiting for it to drop in price).

Yeah, Peter is our resident genius at all things tech. He really knows his stuff, and has a great eye for detail. Someone should do a basic map-out/blueprint diagram (just something basic) to show the placement of the main buildings and towers. That may have to wait for the DVD though. I believe it is a pentagonal fortress, with main towers at the points, and a number of smaller towers (I would like to see the visuals from the video game--do you really get to explore HG? It might be worth buying, just for that.)
2022 update: Working on the new astrology book. "How to read tarot" books are on Amazon, if you are into that sort of thing.
Okay, so the old podcast is here: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/radioavatar It was goofy fun that ended too soon, but we had creative people. I hope we can get a new gang together (interested? PM me, let's make some magic!)

In the game, you can explore the inside of the main building. I don't reccommend using the game as a resource for the map. Try searching for "Hells Gate" at James-camerons-avatar.wikia.com, or look in the ASG, it might give a brief overview.
My uncle's dog came over a little less than one week ago. I stupidly left the computer plug on the floor. That night, his dog chewed it up. So, the next morning, I go looking for the plug and I find a chewed up piece of metal. I sadly cannot purchase a new plug right now, and my computer's battery is out. I'm at my public library.

Also, I discovered this promising "small business" film company called Mirror Entertainment. It looks really promising: http://www.mirrorente

I actually started the game to see if the main holo-tank in the OP-center had the HG-map on it (no->stupid game!) to do exactly that.
Hell's Gate is a pentagon, with side fences roughly 1.4~ miles long. Every corner has a main tower and there's two more automated towers evenly between the main towers. Side note: Did you know that the triple-gun-array on the tower is shooting 20mm-ball-bearings? Nasty!

Now, the Hell's Gate complex in the game is in part explorable since you get to see lab, link chamber, OP-center, hangar and ... something I forgot. But it's not very detailed and most definitely not worth buying the game for.
You can only wander around a rather small part of Hell's Gate and the outside area, all the interesting stuff (power plant, robotic factory and such) is off-limits.

I am starting to miss Half-Life.

Between the original game (hee hee! "O.G.") and Opposing Force, and (my favorite) Blue Shift--where you play a dumb, $6 an hour, donut eating security guard who is caught in the middle of special opps vs. Freeman vs. killer aliens--you can pretty much explore ALL of Black Mesa. HL2 was a huge disappointment by comparison. But the point was that between the three games, you could really get a feel for the Black mesa complex. I wish the game designers of Avatar hadn't completely screwed up. They should have gone 110% with EA and budgeted a few million dollars for the game. It would have been worth at least $100 million in sales. "Hey FOX! Running short on visionaries? My number is . . . "

Bah! They totally screwed the pooch. I could have written a verrrrrrry cool storyline for the video game, and then they would be selling that for the next 3 years (while we await A2).

Oooooookay, so back on topic: I finally saw that HUGE chunk (3 year's salary) of unobtanium on his desk, and the giant bow. It seemed to me that the first scene in his office (with Grace, I think) the lettering read right to left, and then with the colonel, the lettering read the opposite way. Was that a glass door? Maybe it was open. I really need the DVD to study these small details.

Blue ray. More quality, so you can see better.

The whole office is built like a fishtank:
Glass all around and I bet some fancy noise cancelling hardware in the frame so you can yell at your employees without the folks in OP-center hearing anything...

If it is some what open. World type getting to explore the labs and offices would be really worth it, shoot I would spend $90.00 just for a graphic program (simulator) if thre RDA complex.

It kind of makes me wonder, a little off topic, but if unobtanium is a superheavy metal, then perhaps it has the same attributes of other heavy metals like lead and antimony, as far as being slightly bad for you to be exposed to? So who knows, perhaps Selfridge is subliminally killing himself every time he handles the element?

Well I am back from camping (getting to live like the Na'vi, do a little bow hunting (very hard, Neytiri makes it look easy) but this is not my blog so time for me to get back on topic))

I have noticed that a conversation of unobtainium has taken place (it is not off topic by the way as long as it can be linked to Parker and his office (info from the video game, movie, and script is welcome, and soon the deleted scene's from the DVD/Blu-ray release). Throughout the movie I did notice that Selfridge seemed just on the edge of saying screw it, my job is not worth it, his pay check must be ginormous for him to do what he knows is wrong. I saw in a youtube video that someone who worked on the set of avatar had posted he/she recorded it on like a handy cam or something, but their is a deleted scene where Selfridge tells (yells at) Quartich that "I could have your ass with one phone call" (this would be just after the destruction of Kelkutrell) Quartich's response "your a long way from earth Parker, now get out of my way" he moved in and got right in Selfridge's face to do this, then Quaritch had Parker arrested and put in the brig, this is why in the theater release of the movie Mac Russo says to Jake and the rest of his renegade (human) war team that "Quaritch is rolling and there's no stopping him".
