Today, I was going to watch Avatar, and after booting up the disc, I noted a new entry in the menu that hadn't been there before, "Live Extras".

Awesome, I thought! and went into that menu and looked around what was available. Not too much, about 10 clips I think. I didn't look to closely because I planned to view it afterwards.

But, when I was going to view the actual movie I ran into some problems. The movie showed massive artifacts while playing, the same problem that was caused by BD+ before I installed the first patch. Anyway, I downloaded the latest patch for TotalMedia Theatere, my BD playback software, installed it and the movie worked! Except that I cannot access the Live Extras anymore. The menu is there, but it doesn't show any clips inside.

So, have any other Bluray owners encountered similar problems? I'm not sure why I couldn't play the movie, it sure looks like it at the same time as the Extra menu updated the discs BD+ protection, something I didn't think was possible, but then, I don't know much about how the BD+ protection works (except that it's only in the way for the legal customer, not the actual pirate).

well, when I play it in my regular bluray player (not my PS3, the regular player doesn't show the extras), there's 2 spots it skips slightly at, but that's the only problems I've noticed

Does your regular player support BD Live (profile 2.0)?
