I was browsing Youtube because there's a person who really helps me understand how to make the sounds needed in Na'vi and I was searching for one of the videos he posted, but instead came across a nice interview about the language. I thought it would be nice of me to share this interview for anyone who's interested in hearing what Professor Paul Frommer has to say about the language.

may I ask you, off topic, where in Michigan you live? Edwardsburg (small town about 20 minutes from Elkhart, Indiana) is my hometown. I now live in southern Florida, but I love it in Michigan, it's beautiful

I'm in the southern part of Michigan in a place known as Battle Creek. I've been raised here all my life, but once you live here for that long it gets quite boring and you feel like you want to escape at times. That's why we bring my two nieces down from Colorado in the summers or we go on a trip. I also have my horse that gives me something to do. Other times the only thing I have to do is browse the internet. You have to be willing to try things when you live in Battle Creek. The only thing that stinks at the moment is how the economy is up here. Well, I should probably go back on topic. Kea tìkin. Hayalovay ma tsmuke.

oh, ma Seyk, the economy is terrible all over the US

and I even get bored and tired of sunny, beautiful southern Florida; I think everyone gets bored living the same place for too long. I am jealous of your horse; I've loved horses for a very long time, have always wanted one. the only animal I've had besides dogs was a ball python, who died in April of last year; just weeks after we had to put down my black Lab/Newfoundland dog, Franklin because he suffered from lymphoma. that was heartbreaking for me. I miss my babies

anyway, srane, back on topic

it must have been difficult to make up an entirely different language. Frommer says it wasn't too hard; B. S.

Well, if it was then I apologize. I was searching forever and didn't see another post like this. Frommer is a genious so of course it's going to be easy for him. If I were to try and make a language it'd fail.

I didn't see this when it was posted before, so a thanks for posting from me.

There is something I have suspected for a long time and this kind of confirms, watch how he answers the question about Na'vi txting, something discussed here long, long ago too.

I suspect that Frommer may lurk on this forum, at least occasionally.

EDIT .....

In fact, after a bit of checking, that Frommer vid was posted Apr 19, 2010, on Apr 14, 2010 Kewnya Txamew'itan posted this. (just five days earlier!)

It's kind of funny that you can't search for words with ['] in it. So zero results for the word na'vi.
