I just wanted to know, what's your most embarrassing Avatar related moment?

For example: I now hiss at the part where Quatrich says "How does it feel to betray your own race?"

Have at it!

I wouldn't have any regret betraying my own race if it was such a heartless imperialistic bunch of ignorants with no mercy on values of others , there was not even one second I hesitated if maybe the humans were right , I'll always be on the side of the defenders not the agressors and specially not if it's on such evil purposes as those the humans are having , no hesitating in fighting for true values and things in life instead of being a colonist/imperialistic bastard trying to take things from others .

Throughout history it always went the same way as Jake said it in the movie " If someone owns something you want to own yourself , make him your enemy and that justifies that you take it from him" , humanity is just sadly evil if it goes to those things .
I wanted you to know
I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph
I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

'cause i'm broken,
when i'm lonesome
and i don't feel right
when you're gone away

I tell them it's an old form of Slavic and Bavarian used in southern Germany. Worked so far.

Well , I am from germany and I can tell you that there are no slavic languages in the southern hemisphere of germany ,but indeed Na'vi has a lot of similarities to german , the way it's spoken and almost all letters from the navi alphabet are pronounced in the same way as we do ,for example the Na'Vi "ng" is exactly the same as it's in german so it's quite easy to pronounce Na'vi for us .

Hissing "fnu!" to the talkative (but attractive) young lady sitting in front of us in the theater. Then having to explain what it meant after the movie and why I said it in Na'vi without thinking.  :-[

And this is why I just tell people it's french.
good way to silence her XD

IMO, contrary to what Quaritch said, I didn't think Jake betrayed his own race. He just made a moral decision and decided to play for the team he thought was right.  There is nothing wrong with people trying to save themselves (from a dying planet Earth, in this case), but it can't be done at the expense of others or by taking what someone else has just because you can.

The sad thing is that the Na'Vi wanted to share their wealth of knowledge with the humans , but as I said before they didn't value it because they are blinded by their greed ,
You won't get such opportunities a second time in life .

Hmmm, Mo'at said "It is hard to fill a cup that is already full". When Jake said he wasn't a scientist, she got interested in him. Perhaps she was saying that people that think they know everything, don't want to learn from people they consider inferior. And that they think them inferior because they don't know anything about them. Circular logic.

Another lesson from this film.

Darn it, I did it again.  STAY ON TOPIC, Txepäsiyu!

I think you are quite on topic , as the creator quoted what the colonel said " how does it feel betraying your on race?" , we are just going deeper into it and trying to find what lies behind that thought and all the stuff that goes with it , besides there is no topic that isn't worth of being discussed .

I got into a shouting argument with my friends over some food and I started yelling at them in Na'vi. They were bewildered and the people at the lane next to us were confused as all get out. (We were bowling)

Heh. That's the most embarrising thing I can think of so far.

that's the thing with slavic languages too, so if it actually were some slavic-germanic language, it could sound a lot like na'vi (although without kx, tx and px) :D

Alright, how do I begin? (Is going to tell the whole story)

So, when we got to the bowling ally and got our shoes and games and such, we decided to get food to go with our little 'party', which was a celebration of one of my old friends finally comeing back into town for two weeks. We celebrated in the usual way (IE Video Games, Pizza, Soda, Candy, witty banter and lost of geeking out.) and went to see Avatar in IMax 3D.

Skip forwards about three days, after I got on this site and started learning Na'vi. I was picking up on it quickly and was able to speak a bit, and while my friends can't speak it, they kinda have a general idea of what I'm saying.

So, we go to the bowling ally and we got some food. While we were sitting around eating and waiting for our turn to bowl, we got started on the topic of how to pronouce the tx, px, kx in Na'vi.

It kinda escalated from there. By the middle of the argument, I had switched over to Na'vi compleatly, and was only replying in it, though they could understand what I said.

The sad part is that I'm not very fluent in Na'vi, so I was only speaking it subconsiously. One of my buddies got a recording of it on his cellphone, but it can't be put on the internets.

A pity too XD, we could have used it to learn more.

Yep , so far I've already tried to pronounce everything and it worked out fine for me because it's just so similar to my native language .
