I always thought she said something along the lines of "you not Na'vi you're a pig", but after turning on English subtitles, it says (SHOUTING IN NA'VI) - are my ears assuming it's English even though it's actually Na'vi that sounds vaguely like English? Or have the subtitle writers gone crazy?

Its something like "Never. You will never be one of the People" in Na'vi. What you are thinking is pig is actually 'hapxi' which is Na'vi for 'part of'.

Given the state of affairs leading up to this scene in the movie, Neytiri is going to be extremely heartbroken and distraught. Couple this with the fact that she's yelling at Jake and it's easy to see that she's not exactly going to be enunciating everything that she says. I think Zoe did a great job delivering the line, regardless of proper pronunciation; you really feel just how angry and betrayed Neytiri feels. (It takes a lot of work on my part to not tear up during that scene, watching her face go from uncertainty to disbelief to revulsion as Jake tells her the whole truth...there's so much emotion in that scene.)

To add to it, I just saw that scene, and it's not really a roll of the tounge as much as it was a larger emphasis on the "s" of "slayu."  I agree that it's definitely because of her state of mind, but as far as her speech goes, "ke slayu" is slurred together.

Yea, that she was able to pull it off in a "green-screen" set and still get that much emotion is amazing.

But yea, it does sound like "ke" and "slayu" are slurred together in her anger, which i would actually say is more of a rage.

It's "ke," but I was referring to 'Itan Atxur's dilemma between krr and trr.

Ke just makes more sense when translated.
