Ok, so our biggest problem is location, and immigration. So I have some ideas...
My first Idea, is if we can get on a Hawaiian reserve.

A Hawaiian reserve, would provide tropical temps, plenty of wild game, and eatable plants.
There are high trees, and the reserves are fairly empty of people in some places.
If we ever encountered an issue, or injury, then the surrounding Hawaiian Islands would provide.
If anyone has already gone through this let me know, otherwise I will investigate this idea further.

Also here is a list of Islands around the world, there are so many I cant sift through them all. Island List

Just trying to get started..
The Galapagos Islands are right on the equator line. Smack dab in the middle.
South of the USA and West of South America. Here.

A Hawaiian reserve has not been considered yet. Points to research would be:

Immigration - who owns hawaii, and will they let us in?

It's a reserve - would they allow us to come onto the reserve to build our tribe?

Cost - what would they want form us in return...

Islands are a good possibility, the hard part is finding an island that is big enough and has wild game for us. The other issue is again immigration - the countries who own the islands are the ones we have to get round.

Great going, good luck with research!

well, the hawaii islands are unfortunately U.S. Territory, which means immigration is a bit difficult. :(

A good portion of the tribe is already in the US, so immigration probably wouldn't be as difficult as if all of us had to move to a completely new country.

Immigrating to the US isnt as difficult as you might think...

All we would have to do Is get permission from the owner of a reserve.
Most reserves are privately owned, and if we emphasize our intentions there is a possibility that we wont have to pay a dime to live there (Perform our study).

It never hurts to just ask permission.
Surely someone, who owns a reserve, has seen Avatar...and shares our interest in living with our Eywa.
You never know.

But, here's another issue. It's Hawaii, and they have serious rules on one of the most common things to exist- Dirt. Basically, say you are in a place where fungus grows. If a piece of that lives and makes it to Hawaii, it grows there, and goes out of control, they track it back to us, we're spraying fungus on highways for the rest of our lives. So, I forgot where I read this, but it's very interesting.

That statement has so many holes in it, I wont even touch it.
If you can provide me with a source, I would be grateful.
I wont base a decision on something I know nothing about. So please provide us with a source.
I would like to know what your talking about, and if what you say is true, then we will handle this accordingly.

Wait, I remember some of it now. It was Discovery Channel (I said <<that, so therefore like 90% of it went down the drain). Some company used dirt from Wyoming and they were banned from Hawaii. I'll continue searching on it.

Dirt is one of my fewest concerns, if we run out, we would all be dead. But annnnnnywaaaays... So, I'm pretty sure if we plan to import any kind of plant we may need for some reason, this could be a very painful process considering the area.

Im really interested in Hawaii....
Also, Hawaii is where James Cameron took his cast to learn what its like to be in a lush forest..

Hawaii is full of Nihon-gin (Japanese) And Hawaii is mostly a tourist attraction.
To live there, and start our tribe, may have benefits.
If we are successful in a location in the Hawaiian Islands, then word would get out about who we are, and what we are doing.
What we strive for and the point we are trying to make.

Hawaii has my rapt attention for a potential location for our tribe.
Its lush with vegetation, wild game, and the Sea.

What do you think?

Yeah, true, but what about hunting regulations? Are we only allowed to hunt for survival there, or are we just going to be run out after a few days?

Na'vin Nos'feratxu

Im not sure...it requires some investigating.
Im running out of ideas, and potential locations.

Do any of you guys have any ideas?

Right, I am having a look at hawaiian hunting regulations. They vary slightly on each island, but hey...

I have the rules for hunting of game birds in front of me at the minute. Several things I have found:

Good things
Hunting seems to be allowed in many areas, including reserves (where we may want our tribe).
Bows and Arrows are allowed as hunting weapons.
No shortage - limitations on hunting are, well, limited! In many areas the daily hunting quantity is fairly high.

Bad things
When hunting, we must (by law, even on private land) wear bright orange vests visible from 2-3 miles away. erk...
Any hunting assisstants must also wear such clothing.
Quotas - in any place, we can only hunt a maximum amount of animals per day/week. This is often quite high, but the board of hunting regulations reserves the right to change the qouta depending on populations.
No night hunting.
Restrictions on what animals can be hunted at certain times of the year. for example, the ring necked pheasant cannot be hunted after 3rd sunday into january. On plus side, it looks like there will always be something for us to hunt. This system allows the populations to recover.

General stuff
Licenses are needed for each person and for the landowner, who will allow hunting on their land.

Apart from the orange jackets, I like it! If immigration and a location can be sorted, it looks good.
