Location Research - Oceania

Not that I want to be complaining but we have at least 4 or 5 active location boards at the moment, we're not really collating our ideas or moving progressively.

I'd suggest that we resolve them into (or just start another) permanent one, we do have the "finding location a different way" stickies but they're pretty specific.

You are definately correct about this. I think perhaps a MASSIVE (by massive I mean as many people as we can get from the tribe section not just the active "leaders") Skype/Ventrilo meetup should be planner for the tribe only. Maybe in many months so that there is ample warning for people to get prepared. This is the best way to get together in one place with our ideas and discuss them among us. Obviously we would also need a transcript somehow, but with the social networking capabilites of today we must be able to have a live conversation together somehow.

I vote for skype.. since vent is never working for me.
Or.. we could also use teamspeak since there is already a hosted server for this site, we will just make our own sub-category so we can discuss things about the tribe.

The wiki could be an excellent way to collect our research and it makes sense to collaborate on these common issues.
So you'd have: Common Research(location, &c.) - LN Tribe - Revolutionists (or whatever you call yourselves) independently.

I am still waiting for approval in our group, but I see no obstacle in principle. Should I post a seperate thread and post this suggestion, or do you (as I read it in the last post before this one) already have an alternative plan to find a location?

How will this be for people with glasses? Not that i wear any but it must be very annoying to wear them while hunting or something

Well, I have glasses (astigmatism, about 27-25) and when I'm not wearing them, things go blurry, but they're mainly to help with small things, and I think that blurriness in nature won't be hard to deal with.

I have glasses but I never wear them anyway, they're only for reading. Basically I used to read a lot, and after reading for a while I got headaches so it was to solve that, but now I can't be bothered reading anyway So I'm fine

I can't do without glasses. My astigmatism is 300+ (born with it) and my short sightedness is also roughly at about 300 - 350 (blame cartoon channels?).

That must be a bloody nuisance, I too have astigmatism but your only talking maybe eye strain without glasses and only on fine tasks like reading. My contacts have 1.4 something on them but I haven't a clue what that means .
Perhaps tribe-funded laser eye surgery.  Does it still cost a fortune? I'm sure the contribution an additional member could offer would offset any cost.

In the military they make you get eye surgery. But yeah, nothing for me.

Most glasses will stay on if properly fitted, unless you are doing something that requires the head to be jurking around a lot. 
For oceania I have question.  Are we aiming for a bigger island like Indonesia or one of the small ones?

The only problem with going on an Island in Oceania is the number of Tsunamis that affect the area each year, there are at least 1-2 and if that happened to where we are then its all over, no more tribe and possibly people

How about a moderately sized island with a decently tall hill? I think if we can find the place with that an a good amount of rain*, we could have a good start.
