Okay, so we've discussed quite a bit about what locations work and which ones won't. But due to the length of the topic, much of what we discussed has become hard to find. So I skimmed through all 34 pages (admittedly not reading all the posts) and gathered as much of our discussions as I could. Now, I may have missed somethings so please forgive me. But don't post what I missed here!! Send me a PM and I'll add it in. Let's try furthering the discussion and bringing in new ideas.

Let's do our best to stay on topic this time around (yes, I was at fault too). The last topic it became to hard to find real info and opinions due to the off topic posts.

Also, keep checking this first post because I'm going to do my best to keep it up to date!

So here are the areas we've largely eliminated:

Africa
Alaska
Australia [Being discussed again]
Europe
Canada [British Columbia may be an option]
China
Japan

The main places that seem to still be in contention are:

North and South America
Asia
Random Islands
New Zealand
.

Please PM me if I'm missing something from this or "eliminated" an area that is still in contention.

Here's some of the links I've found that have been part of the discussion: (I also might add that price has NOT been a part of the discussion as of yet)

This is all the info I was able to gather from the old topic. I'm sure I missed some things because I certainly didn't read every post. Again, please PM me if my info is wrong or I forgot something. Hope this helped!

(I also might add that my geography is pretty bad at times so if I make a stupid mistake editing this post, PLEASE PM ME!!)

Txon Taronyu

Fauna- peccaries(little warthogs),  foxes, tapirs, anteaters, opossums, armadillo, deer, certain monkeys, birds
Flora- peach palms, Abutilon esculentum (sorry no popular name essentially little red berries), monkey nuts(not a joke, an actual plant), machoriza-edible roots.

things that might eat us or otherwise dismember us:
Fauna-jaguars, peccaries(sharp tusks very territorial), ocelots

other locations i am researching:
peru
tasmania

...House cats will eat people if needed.

The old Uriuujìn

"Hey there Mittens!"
"Mrowl.... KHHHHH!!!!" (Kh is a hiss, btw)
"AAAAAHHH!" *gets mauled and eaten*

And that is why I don't like cats, unless they have four fingers/toes, are blue, and about eight-ten feet tall XD

Peru- seems nice. [Lake Titicaca is there]
Tasmania- T. Devils are really the only thread
American North West- Maybe
Philippines- Maybe
American Coastal Mountains- Too high, and mountainy
New Zealand- Maybe
Andies- You literally can't predict the weather there. It can snow and be really hot the same day.

---
And all things on Pandora are mixes. Na'vi- Human/Cat, Direhorse-Anteater/Horse, etc. But I did see Na'vi in the face of my grandpa's cat.

I mostly agree exept with
Tasmania- it has all the problems of astralia
and with
the costal mountains
- we would live in a valley there are large really good places to live there

So you think the coastal mountains are an option then?

But it gets cold up there, unless you find a low spot on the peaks.

'Itan Atxur

Aren't some of the more southern mountains okay climate wise? I know the stuff in my area (New Hampshire) would be absolutely no good.

my point is that we can't shoot down options off of a whim that's why i will research and post results here. if i could just get off of this forum for more than a minute at a time. If you have any suggestions that weren't already listed by me send me a pm and i'll get on it or research it yourself it'll probably get done faster that way. ;)

I agree that being on mountains wouldn't be the best of ideas, but being somewhere near mountains (like in a valley) isn't a bad idea. Also, I have quite a bit of experience with mountains and such.

Don't shoot down ideas that way! Say it nicely, please ^_^ Do not apologize, just keep that in mind.

I'm nowhere near Pandora, the great plains have like 6 trees. But out of country would be nice, so then all the people that come through would be like Na'vi and Tawtute- don't understand each other.

use ideas and facts to shoot down ideas please. ;D

a valley is a great place. plenty of fresh water and wildlife and near impossible to access with heavy machinery. i'll start researching remote valleys.
