It sounds like you have the standard stigma on America that i am afraid some ignorant people have given us. I will say that many of us deserve it though. The media isn't in everybody's business here, only if you are what they deem "important", a few people in the forest won't grant them many viewers' attention. People will generally stay out of your business if you are far from the major cities. And furthermore i would have to go just as far to get to the part of america i am arguing for, that i might as well just go anywhere so that really has nothing to do with my decision.

yeah i do pretty much have a stigma but it is well founded (you have to admit). and the fact that we are basing this on Na'Vi (if we go public, which we really shouldnt) will attract some media attention as we will be branded as fanatics.

i didnt mean travel cost, i meant emigrating to teh country of choice

That's why i said some of us deserve it. That aside i have no problem immigrating anywhere i just don't feel that anywhere has proven a good enough argument yet for either sides of this discussion since we still haven't created definitive lists of benefits, laws, ect. of each proposed place we should just save these kind of decisions for after we have definitive evidence in either direction. (We should focus on the research right now)

This is why we haven't gotten very far with the decision, because we can't start a factual search because we keep getting hung up on personal issues (I'm not saying you're responsible, I'm saying everyone is.) and I'm not upset about it; i think its great that we can share our opinions so civilly ;D but we still need to focus on research right now.

I hope that didn't sound mean because that was supposed to be a nice helpful post. :-\

sorry but who made this poll ??? three out of four countries aren't even possible to choose .... north america/us/alaska should be debared from voting because it's way too cold to live there in winter, hawaii isn't possible cause of the tourism, same in canada and central america (there just too much population) , asia and europe aren't achievable because of the business situation and so forth and so forth ..

conclusion: In the end the're just south america (brazil, peru ...), oceania (indonesia) and new zealand really well adapted for this project ...

so why wasting our time with searching for laws etc. in countries which aren't possible due to other reasons   ???

Because we need hard facts to support our choice. The statements you just made are VERY general. We need specifics.

The US/Canada are not that cold every where and in reality we might have to be in a place where there is a winter even if its just a short one so its not a waste of time

also asia has lots of good spots. Parts of Russia are far south enough that they do not have cold winters and there are miles of wilderness there

plz do not shoot down ideas

cold winters is a too general statement ?

Yeah, we can't shoot down ideas w/o enough hard facts to back it up.

but most of the forest is conifer forest ... other question what animals would you hunt in russia ? bears ? tigers ?

i really don't understand why you are against rain forest it would be much easier for us: biological diversity, warm temperatures, thick forest ... so why the conditions deliberately aggravate by moving to russia when we could pick any better place ?

We of course have NOT decided to go to Russia, but we haven't decided against it either. Same for any place with a jungle.

That's all very well, but when will that decision be ?? the first entry in this forum was in january and now 3 month later ok you talked about religions and minor stuff like that but be honest noting really happened since that. we plan to achieve this project in 4 years but time is against us ... properties won't be cheaper in future and anyway who know if the're will be much rain forest left in 4 years

This isn't a decision that can be made overnight. Though I'm sure you've noticed the recent push to make some real progress. And thus this topic was created and hasn't done crap because we've all gone off topic anyways. We need to just bite the bullet and start doing research. (which I've started on NA but is really hard to do on an iPod)

OK first of all I don't want to live go to Russia I just think the jungle is a bit to dangerous and unrelistic (but if it does happen it will be so cool) seconed in the southern parts of russia its mixed forest
