Well, Sir Haxalot gave me my own domain, and I have Wordpress installed on it. And what else? Posting the link in my signature has caused one of Google's Spiders to pop over to my site, so now I have my URL listed in their search, but not completely. Right now, it's classified as Pandora-All Things Avatar, but I have renamed it "project:PANDORA - The Real Life Na'vi Tribe". So what can it be used for? Well, it can be used to post up the tribe's news, finds, etc., but all the research has to be done here at home.  ;) Well, if you all like the idea, just tell me, and I'll modify some of the settings and we can get this off the ground.

I like the theme... very calming. :)

I have some experience in web design, so if you'd like, I can help to organize the site a bit, just to keep it from getting impossible to navigate (like oh so many blogs out there).

I'm also a harsh editor, if there's a need (which there really isn't unless there's more than one writer (which I recommend)).

In summary: It looks really nice, and I'd love to help get it finalized. :)

Hm... well, the theme ain't all exactly just HTML and CSS. I tried to make the sidebar fit nicely in the top, but the PHP wouldn't let me, and the CSS kept destroying it. So, if you want to design a theme for it, go ahead.

Okay, update and Mission Statement added to blog. Let's hope people find this page and come here.

I like the theme as it is, I think all that is necessary is a bit of tweaking to the settings in the dashboard and maybe a bit of css/php editing.

The dashboard doesn't need to be edited at all, if you change the CSS to fit any new PHP or HTML, it'll work, but I haven't been able to get it.

I'll have to see it in order to figure out if it's possible, but in my experience it just takes a bit of trial-and-error.

This looks like a good idea (nice to see my news with a fancy background, next update is tomorrow by the way). My only concern is about fragmenting the site a bit, it's nice to keep everything in one place. Although I'm all for a new/flashier site I'd prefer to have it and the forum in the same place.

Also, one nice thing about our space on learn na'vi is that the board gets a lot of traffic and is nice and stable. With the operator being outside the tribe no one is 'in charge' so to speak. I know that's not what you're suggesting but it's quite related.

I registered, no idea if it'll be of use. ;)
Looks amazing! I understand that we want to keep everything in a minimum number of places, but having a site seems official and it looks good. :D I think it's a good idea, as things tend not to get lost, whereas stuff falls out of page one on the forums (unless it's sticky).

You can register to the RSS, you'll be able to view the blog from wherever you have your feeds. ;)

I would prefer - at the moment, circumstances may change - to just get on with the main page on the forum. Moving all the stickies there and finishing off our welcome structure: mission, guidelines etc. that is nearly done anyway, although largely fragmented.

I can see your site being useful for the RSS feed and to provide greater catchment for members (as it provides better exposure to the search engines) but I think we should direct everyone straight to the forum until we move everything into one site. Something that will probably be a way off, I'd consider it a post-location goal.

Personally, what I would like to see on the site is a welcome page (pointing to the forum) and I'm not sure we need the "Pandora" tab. Maybe just: "Who we are", "News", "Blog", "LearnNa'vi"

guest2859

I know, That's the intention of the site. I have the basic LearnNa'vi link at the top, and until I can configure a welcome page, it's going to just be like this. I'll add a tribe link page to help direct the people who go through. [I'm starting to think the point counter at the bottom is rigged]

Okay, I figure out the static page.

Goodness me, I have not even taken a look at this site yet. Must do so immediately!

Oops, it appears something messed up. I'll have to fix this now.

Ah, crap, this could take a while.
