In my opinion its really more a theory or philosophy then religion

yeah, as far as I know it's just the belief that all life on earth is interconnected and is a whole entity

kinda like in my own religion, jediism

its a theory and a philsophy according to wikipedia but im sure it can be interpreted as a religion seeming as most religions are based on a set of morals and a philosphy which they consider good

Yaay! My Thread now, MUAHAHA! XD

I'm joking (for the most part), but I would be happy to tell you my personal brand of Gaian Spiritualism, and you can take what you want from it ^_^

I believe in the Gaia theory, which states that all things that are on the earth are interconnected in an intricate balance that keeps the world in homeostasis, creating an entire Organism, per say. I take this a step further- I believe that there is a force that is guiding the Earth through this process, controlling the flow of all things on this earth- Gaia, our Earth Mother ^_^ Now, I also believe that we as humans are smarter, and therefore operate outside the normal realm of normal animals. I believe that we should have respect for all of the living things on this earth, even though we cannot communicate with them on a neurological scale ^_^ I think that Humanity is killing our Mother, which is bad, and the reason why I am a total advocate for environmentalism ^_^ However, my religion only covers this life, not the afterlife, should it exist, or the worlds beyond this one. However, I have two theories:

  • 1- That there is a cosmic being like Gaia running the show, as it were, and keeping the Universe at an equilibrium for it's own existence
  • 2- There is a Force out there, some guiding being that is constantly tuning the Universe for an unknown reason, or maybe multiple ones o_o?

To be honest, my theory stops at the Exosphere ^_^ If you have any other questions, feel free to ask ^_^ I won't bite.

well i did some research on the gaia theory and philosophy and i have to admit im definitely more inclined towards it than Christianity.

but would you that belief has to based on the strong gaia or can it be based on the other one as well?

First holy grammar batman!

Second, what I have shared with you is my personal belief. I am not one who says that this is what you should believe if you want to be a Gaian Spiritualist, yada yada yada... I prefer that you use this as sort of a starting point to form your own conclusions- if we both arrive at the same answer, it adds credit to it ^_^ The point is, I am still learning about Gaia, as is every other person in the world, constantly learning new things about the world around us. Keep your ideas flexible but your ideals resolute ^_^ Best advice I can give.

;D ;D ;D I hope so! Not trying to shove my beliefs on anyone, but if I can give a bit of a nudge toward getting close to Gaia, then I will ^__^ Spread the wealth and the word, as it were ^_^

well iv done more research ( i love research, its all i seem to do) and im defiantely inclined towards it.
Although my personal belief would be about gaia as the mother of earth, but not that she is part of a huge spirit (i didnt know what to say) that controls the whole universe. as I know some people do believe.

if my grammer is bad its because im pn the internet and i reallyt cba to try

My whole views on Gaia have just been that she (idk why i see her as she, the whole matriarch thing i guess) is the part of us that is at peace when in nature and the part that makes us all in the modern world so depressed. Some have learned to suppress her through their materialistic pursuits but in the end i think everyone feels their guilt whether they are open about it or not, they just can't pinpoint the source. So now everyone is drugged up on antidepressants and similar drugs to forget about the mother they are destroying. But i don't stop with the earth because the Taoist bits in me believe in the universal collective. She is us and everything and we are her.

eywa is gaia/ gaia is eywa

the principles of the 2 are exactly the same the spirit of eywa was probably based around the whole concept of gaia, only james cameron gave it a different name and added a way to comunicate with her.

Well, on the theory of theories of religion, you could say I'm

Wolfanism.

Best religion I came up with. But with Gaia, I don't know much about it, but I follow my own beliefs.
