Revision:
My father remembers dreams very often. He then tells me them. They are ALWAYS about his parents (going to the deli, etc.). So, I come to this conclusion: the dreams you remember most is about the things, events, people you love or hate. If you want to dream about Pandora, Tatooine, etc., you can't just really like it. Imagine a graph, you need to move the the bar enough to the left or right to begin to dream it. Imagine you need to elott half your brain to the knowlage of the item you want to dream about, while the rest is whatever else. After reading this, think about all the dreams you remember in the past years. Most of them are probably about past events (fictional or nonfictional) and an event recent to that dream.
Note: I just thought of this, your brain wants to relive the great expierences in your life (parents, first kiss, Christmas, holidays, etc.). You need to make the event you want to remember and dream about a priority.
My uncle's dog came over a little less than one week ago. I stupidly left the computer plug on the floor. That night, his dog chewed it up. So, the next morning, I go looking for the plug and I find a chewed up piece of metal. I sadly cannot purchase a new plug right now, and my computer's battery is out. I'm at my public library.

Also, I discovered this promising "small business" film company called Mirror Entertainment. It looks really promising: http://www.mirrorente

I've had a total of three different lucid dreams, of which one I've visited 4 times (same similar dream spaced over different nights (not the next night after, it was over a span of 4 years)).

It was over 7 years ago. I miss those kinds of dreams! Each of those dreams, I did not 'wake up', but I did realize that I was dreaming, and therefore I have ultimate control over the 'dream'! I have tried every night since the last lucid dream for another one, but I either do not think the simple thought within the dream, or I couldn't sleep, or I just fall asleep and wake up with no dream at all :(.

I will have lucid dreams! It is only a matter of time!

This is my problem. From what I can remember, I can't bring myself to realise that I'm only dreaming. Like the dream is reality.
In the past I've awoken saying, "wait, didn't I have this dream before?" Yet I didn't have control. It was also a year apart.
I've also encountered a deja vu effect from dreaming, at least I think. I would do something (ex. Playing a new video game) and make a move that I swear I dreamt years in advance. The problem is is that I remember the dream once the event happens in real life. Could this just be regular deja vu that is similar to a past event? Probably, but when something deals with the human brain, virtually anything is possible

Ok, I'll be posting my WILD dream encounters right here tomorrow.

What happens is similar to what I still have. About every three or four days. I can't remember anything of it untill it happens. And it is quite fun to say the words your teacher is about to say to your friends. They'll think you're a pshycic or so. The only problem is that you can't tell when it will happen until it happens.  I always thought I was weird, but just accept it, 'cause it won't go away.

Note: Yay, tonight got three dreams. (So far as I remember). :D

I'm glad to see so many people are trying it out! I'll be updating the project guide soon; I have more links to add and more information about my own findings while conducting the experiment. As far as personal progress goes, I'm pushing about 3-4 vivid and memorable dreams a night (when I do a simple WBTB) but I never seem to get lucid. I always forget and no matter how bizarre the dream is I never seem to catch myself. I'm planning on trying to make reality checks a habit and maybe changing how I approach MILD's when I do WBTB+MILD.

Despite this inability to go lucid every night, I have been able to go lucid before albeit for short amounts of time (because I got overwhelmed and thus awakened); it really is exhilarating.

Again, updates soon. Keep it up guys!  8)

I tried it last night. I got so close to make it work you wouldn't believe it. I also discovered that I have an awesome dream memory! I use an actigraph clock to wake me up so I know exactly how much and when I had dreams. Just after getting up, I started a dream journal and I'm astonished at how much detail I could got out of my head! I could remember every single dream easily and wrote about 2 100 words! That just one night!

Anyway, I hope I'll make some progress this night  :D

This sound very interesting and I'll definitely try it.

For those trying to remember your dream. It is easier if you wake up naturally and not through external stimulus like an alarm-clock. If you're like me and still need that alarm not to oversleep and get late at work, take a look at this which might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actigraphy . There's two links at the bottom of the page which give example real life implementation of actigraphy into alarm-clocks.

I've been looking into the aXbo Alarm Clock.  Best example of this I've seen technology so far.

QuoteWhile reading your first link I stumbled upon a part where it talk about collective dreaming. I found it very interesting, specially in the context of the "Pandora Project" and immediately think about something called delta wave induction (aka BrainSync). This could make this kind of experience much more than just a dream.

The concept behind DWI is that while we're dreaming, our brains emit specifics "radio" wave at around 1-4 Hz which are called delta waves. They are directly related to what is happening in your brain and is basically an imprint of what you're thinking about/dreaming. I know that this sound like science fiction but there actually is many studies about those. Nobody can interpret them yet and that's what make them so interesting.

The idea is that using specific sounds we can induce certain patterns into the brain of a dreaming person. Right now, those are only mathematic patterns which can't (are very improbable of) occurring naturally. They are used to prove that induction is possible.

For some time now, I've been using (off and on) a program on my laptop called "Brainwave Generator" (http://www.bwgen.com) that generates sound frequencies (and if desired, color patterns) to stimulate certain states of brainwave activity (concentration, sleep and dreaming, relaxation, etc.).  I've been meaning to use it more frequently.  Lately though, with work and all, I've been dealing with severe sleep deprivation and need to try to get back on track with getting enough sleep and with regular pattern.  I plan on then thoroughly studying my own dream states and work on going in depth with them.  This is an area I've been planning on studying for quite some time now, but just never fully dedicated myself to it until now.

QuoteIt made me wonder what would happen if two people capable of lucid dreaming could be "synced" together... Based on the research there is, they is a possibility that synced people would share the dream but this is just an hypothesis. Imagine if those would be able to manipulate this dream. Anyway, that's just a crazy idea that flown through my mind and for now is nothing more than science fiction ;)

There was a movie back in 1984 called "Dreamscape" where the government was experimenting with psychics that could consciously put themselves mentally into someone else's dreams.  It turned out that they wanted to use this idea for assassinations by having someone duplicate this process, then kill the host in their dream, thereby killing them in real life (the idea of "if you die in your sleep, you will die in real life" type of thing).  The government found a way to produce this ability through technology so that non-psychics could attain the same state of mind and project themselves mentally into an enemy's dream.  This allowed them to carry out an assassination mission without having to send someone to the enemy physically, and there was no evidence to cover up.  So, the idea of dream sharing has been looked into, even if just for science-fiction reasons.  Why could it not be a lucid dream with good intentions?  Pandora, here we come...

Well, it's pretty much the same as real life, except for facter like no dying. I mean, if you approach that same person, and you dream together the other will see it too, from his/her own eyes, causing the same reactions of the persons in dreams. The only different thing is people can fly, go on honeymoon without having to pay a lot and so..
Would there be lags? Like in online gaming :P Would be epic xD

Ok, so i went on the site mentioned in the first post and last night i worked on some of the techniques talked about.  I only ended up waking up once durring the night to record my dream (which is actually a huge accompleshment: I sleep like a log) and this morning i had some foggy memories from dreams that i wrote down.

But my question to anyone who has done this a lot is, is it normal for me to be really tired the next day?

I woke up at about 3:43 to recoprd my dream, and then woke up again at about 5:30.  I normally wake up at six so I decided to just get up then rather then try to sleep for a half hour.  i started doing chores and stuff and I was fine until I got to school. In my first hour (symphonic band) the director was working with flutes and all of a sudden I couldn't keep my eyes open and I kept falling asleep on my tuba...Not a very nice pillow, btw...

So...is that normal after a first attempt at dream recall?

Meuia te Stxeli Tstew'itan

Damn! I want to punch myself in the face so hard! I attempted a WILD last night. When I got to SP I started thinking so much I couldn't fall a sleep. Then I though I should try to relax and stopped thinking for about 3 or 5 seconds. I fell asleep and missed my chance... Damn!

To night will definitely be different :P

It might be if you woke up during a deep sleep phase. You really need to wake up when you are as close as possible to the reality else this kind of thing happen. Good luck in your quest :P

IT'S SO NOISY. :P

I am finding it hard to sleep with all that noise pumping through my ears. I'm presuming you just drift to sleep with it playing no?

I tried it, it woke up when I needed to study for my tests. It kept me concentrating, for about ten minutes. Then played it again for about ten or twenty seconds and then I could concentrate again. Sleep-thing made me drowsy but couldn't sleep.

"Dream on, dream on, dream on,..."(in a good way ;))

I actually played with this idea myself, but I don't get enough sleep to fulfill lucidity's requirements.
Good idea though.

I've been going for a little while now. It's becoming a nightly thing, and (just like he put it) I'm startin to face the Jakesully effect.

I think in a few nights I'm going to go in and consult Jakesully (The Pandora I have made for myself is post-Avatar, Jake is Olo'Eyktan and Neytiri his woman. Oh, yeah, and for some reason Tsu'tey is still alive. -shifty eyes-)
I've gotten alot of wise advice from Jake and Neytiri (Neytiri being the Shamoness she is.) And I think I'm going to ask Jake what he did when he was experiencing the same things; how he made things better for himself and what he suggests I do.

(Of course, In doing so, I am literally asking the non-dominant part of my own brain for advice, the part of my brain that I am making more use of but still generates the Dream Characters. Really handy way of asking yourself what you really want/ making decisions and overcoming mental and social obstacles. Trippy.  :))

Apparently lucid nightmares can happen too.
Was breathing under water.. then got stuck, couldn't breathe anymore?? Then remembered, it was a dream, but I didn't wake up, or I couldn't do anything.. Well, for as long as I can remember, my dreamwalking from when I was little, always started as a nightmare, but then I took control with my super powers, killed the badass with a chain saw and started flying cross the city. Tee hee :P
