I don't know what to do... I mean I want to be a part of this tribe. I love Avatar and I really want to learn the language, but I just don't know. With me going off to college I'm just now realizing that my major will be of no help to the tribe and I don't know if I can committ myself 100% to the tribe... I don't know what I'm going to do...
I dream of a paradise, where everyone is treated equal, where the planet is lush with nature and everyone is happy.

I hold to the sole belief, that my skin will peel off and that I will be reborn as a Na'vi.

Relax, we have a lot of time. You'll have time to go through college. But what are you going to major in?

If you are not 100% sure you can commit then having you college major will be of vital importance. So you shouldn't worry about it if it doesn't apply directly to the tribe. Look at it this way, to commit to the tribe you need a fallback, therefore going to college and getting your major does help the tribe as it brings another potential member to the tribe. As Toruk Txonä said, the one thing we are defiantly not lacking is time.

... Computer Science. How the hell will that help!? I wanted to be a game designer, ever since I was a little kid. I actually want to be a level designer now, or an evironment designer. I want to create amazing worlds for everyone to play in. I don't know why that would help the tribe and now I'm concerned that I will be little or no help to the tribe at all!

If it gives you a fallback and allows you to still consider tribe as an option then it helps the tribe by giving us another member. As far as I can tell, it looks like people plan to have computers and internet in the eco-village which will be situated relatively close to the tribe. Maybe you could do your environment designs (or whatever branch you get into) their and sell them to fund maintenance and upkeep of the tribe.

then your the perfect person to be the architect for the tribe's location. As soon as we have this location set it would be nice if there's someone that can make a map of how we want it to look like. And there'll be plenty of jobs to do in the tribe that everybody needs to learn.
for instance, when in the tribe, i'd like to go hunting now and then but i've never actually hit a target at the right place (missing by 1m is a lot).
So anyone can learn new things there.
No stress, it's still a long way before it becomes reality so you'll have plenty of time to make up your mind.

Same here, I'm getting into game making as well, and I know at least one other person on here that is too. But I'm not really going to worry about it too much.

We're thinking of setting up an eco-village close to the tribe, so you may actually be of vital importance in keeping the tribe going.

Well, a college education in almost any field will teach you problem solving and how to communicate ideas effectively as well as build self-confidence, which in turn are useful no matter what you end up doing in life.

There is also the option to do both ^_^; I personally cannot do what I love at the Tribe, and I love the Tribe as well (I want to become a professor ^_^;), so my solution is to go to college, get a job, and visit the Tribe as often as possible, and support it as much as I can financially, publicly, and in every other conceivable fashion. Plus, I would go and be with the Tribe as often as I had time off, which would (after getting to that level) would be during the Summer at least, as well as whenever I had my TA teach while I was away.

There are ways around it- you just have to look. Creating a beautiful environment for others to play in is a very interesting, and bright idea. If I had any artistic talent I would XD And who knows, perhaps you could sneak a little Tribe advertisements into the game <.<

Me!

Thanks to all who have posted above me! I really do feel the need of the tribe though. Plus the fact that no one really knows about me being a part of the tribe. I may not know now, but I have a feeling I will when the time comes! I must thank the members of the tribe for being there and helping me find some confidence to go on!
