(finally finished reading the whole thread, lol)

A lot of things to talk about in here but on the discussion on hand I had some thoughts to share:

Personally, I don't think the whole "breaking it to your parents" thing will be an issue for at least the generation that it would matter to on these forums. This tribe is going to be at least a few years in the making and those first couple of starting years are going to be hard and tough and it's going to take a lot real work. As much as it's great to see young people enthusiastic about the tribe, I think it'll be wise to leave it to some able-bodied men and women for starters. Then as issues get ironed out and things get rolling, inviting people of all ages to join. As much as they might idolize the idea, most children/teenagers are not up for day-in and day-out manual labor. And anyone not spending every day working just makes the load harder on the rest.

Well, I've certainly done my share of manual labor over the years. I know I'll be physically capable for any and all tasks that come up. Still going to continue working out and such as much as I can.

Since a long time I've been thinking about how sad the modern world is. How we aren't in control of our lives. How we are stuck in a world that can only give things and not real, pure, pleasure. How the only goal in our life is to acquire more and more possessions which don't even have any meaning in the end.

I think that trashing this way of life for one closer to what really matters is a unique opportunity which should not be missed in any way.

If this truly is a few years away that would be so awesome.

It allows me to finish my education and not have to deal with any of the speeches my parents make. It also allows me to make some money to actually afford everything; and if I spend a whole year (or two) saving money for the sole purpose of the tribe, I can buy a nice Toyota Hilux to act as the emergency vehicle and I'll get it sprayed a nice Na'vi paintjob. Haha!

#1: Mtn. Dew isn't good for you. It would be good for you to lay off it anyway.

#2: It's not like there aren't any girls that are going...

Ok, that was a little rude, sorry. I can see now that your just offering encouragement.

It's okay, ma tsmukan. i do not think he was trying to attack me. It was a friendly jest.

And for the record i said I'd miss them i didn't say i couldn't live without them. in fact i would rather eat venison for every meal than have another mountain dew in my life.

I wouldn't miss learnnavi.org if I had someone teaching me Na'vi :D
Don't ever miss TV. Seriously. Talk about a waste of time. Watching a movie, playing video games or picking your nose are better uses of your time compared to TV haha ;)

the U.S. government
You do realize that if you plan on living on a Na'vi reservation anywhere in the U.S. this is a hypocritical statement? That's like saying you hate police officers. Good luck on your own the next time you're raped or robbed or involved in a hit-and-run.

EDIT @ post below: (so I'm not spamming up off topic) What did politics ever do to you? Is it impossible for you to live your life because of what some balding white haired guys like to chitchat about? That's what they went to college and gov-service for half their life for was so they could argue about what they enjoy arguing about. In the end their decisions still leave me able to have a roof above my head, safe food to buy, safe roads to drive, un-censored internet access, distrobution of media like the movie AVATAR so I can enjoy what I want, unparelleled educational opportunity, and hope that as much as today might suck tomorrow can be better.
Sorry, I just don't like people band-wagoning hackneyed concepts. I'll say it again: LESS TV!

Police don't do much in that situation anyways. They just take a statement and ingore you for a long time till you bug them enough.

That's because they have a bazillion other statements to get through, as well as higher priority cases.

I think that this has turned into a hate thread, and I am going to lock it if it keeps up. Keep the negativity down please, or make a different thread. Not on my board please ^_^

It is not as much a hate thread against each other as it is against society. That is what I meant, I think that otherwise most of us are bring quite civil ^_^

And I wasn't trying to come off hateful, I have friends who are police and I am thinking of becoming CHP, but my experience with them was deffinately a bad one because of slow response. Plus, I was just stating that after the incident happens, they can't do much to stop it. They aren't called before something goes wrong but after it does, in some cases of violence and murder.
