ok i just tried my first day on this diet(mostly,im eating the main meal now). i wanted to say that through the day yes i was a bit hungry but that was only because i had an apple at 7 a.m. then ate my lunch at noon and the majority of that time mostly after i had eaten the apple(around 8-9 a.m. i was hungry). all the rest of the time i was aware, focused, not hungry or really thinking about food at all. at lunch i only had some french fries with some ketchup. i know that lots of carbs through the day is bad like you said but i did this because i have wrestling practice which is very rigorous and energy consuming. and i wasnt hungry for the rest of the day wat so ever.

i also have another question about consumables. is it ok to drink large amounts of coffee or any coffee at all? i ask this because i really enjoy drinking coffee, not for to wake me up but just because i enjoy the flavor of it.

Coffee is fine.  Surprisingly, just don't add any fake sugar.  Take that coffee black mister!  If you can't stand hard core coffee, well then make sure the sugar isn't synthetic, and don't go nuts on the sugar.  The french fries is fine, for now.  Since you wrestle I would have added a little protein to the mix for good measure.  Yogurt or something along those lines would help.  Eat some nuts too.  But sounds like you're doing well.

darn i hate coffee black, regretfully i have to say that i add 4 teaspoons of sugar to a cup and a half of coffee lol. i use sugar that i believe is made from beets or somethin like that, that count as processed sugar thats a no no.

also i think a good way to stop this argueing is to post some sources that clearly explain scientificaly and all that and is written by an acceptable source talking about this diet.

The sugar that is taken from sugar beets is essentially the same as from sugar cane just the beets are able to be grown in a wider variety of locations.

I was thinking along the lines of High Fructose Corn Syrup, Aspartamine, Splenda...tears of the innocent.  These forms of sweeteners I've come to understand don't help anyone.

Hehe, kind of like Diet Coke. They're supposed to have less sugar and all that, but the chemical that they use for it blocks the signal that you send to your brain when you get full. Kind of counter-intuitive.

Speaking of soda; You should avoid it completely. It was created as a treat, not a normal beverage (This is actually true, when you could only get it at soda shops. It was an event to go out and get a soda and have fun. Not pop a can while you're watching cartoons). It dehydrates you and is full of sugar, so you're basically breaking down your entire body by drinking soda. I used to protest that my parents never bought soda, but now I'm glad that I can only have it several times a year, when I go to parties. And even then I don't splurge. I only have about one can, at most. That's all I can take.

I like your diet, I may try it for a while. The main problem for many people will be the detox, the getting off the unhealthy food that you are addicted to, as well as not overeating. I know I eat too fast, and I've been trying to chew more, to let my body tell myself that it's full.

Let's not give people the wrong idea that soda is completely evil, you are right that you shouldn't over drink it but you also don't have to limit yourself to only a few times a year. Moderation is key for anything, personally I only have 1-2 cans per week. I would suggest getting the mini cans so as to not unintentionally over drink.

Also remember to brush your teeth every day people.

Eh, it's easier to limit yourself to almost none than to have 1-2 a week. Lot less temptation to splurge.

For some maybe but for others, limiting themselves is easier than cold turkey.

It's not cold turkey if you have never had soda that much.

Chances are though, majority of people reading this thread are avid soda drinkers.

HFCS is the crack of the obese generation.  Why in the world it isn't regulated as a health threat is beyond me.

Your diet is interesting, but I am glad you mentioned to ease into it slowly. Anyone jumping from a typical high school kid's diet to something like this is going to go hypoglycemic early on in the day and cycle in and out during the daytime phase of your diet schedule. That's not good either.

I agree with you, tsmukan. I personally used to drink pop all the time, but then I started to quit, starting out trying cold turkey- didn't work. So now I limit myself to one every once in a while, and it works. Though now I think I may be drinking more and more. I'll have to re-vamp my efforts.

i am actually jumping into it right now. yea it may cause some issues now but as far as i can tell im fine. ill ease up into a normal diet if something gets too bad but i cant just ease myself into something like this because i would eventually not be doing it at all.

at work (walmart) I drink 3 sodas a day, but lately I have been cutting back to either two or one sodas a day until I'm used to it. I have already lost 5 pounds in about two weeks.

Nice! Yeah, it's good to ween yourself off of it until you only drink one a week, at most. It's the same as quitting everything else; do it less and less until you can just refuse it completely.

Strength is good, but if you look at the Na'Vi, they're very graceful in the way they move and very agile and lithe.

Going totally against what i said earlier, I would say that the best way to become more like them is to learn rural and urban parkour.

But this is me and I'm a total skxawng.

I've been doing Parkour for about a year now... and I LOVE it.  Best physical fitness I've ever had in my 37 year existence.  The running aspect helps in the cardio and endurance areas, while general technique training helps in the areas of balance, spacial awareness, and strength.  With warm weather coming, I'm looking forward to amping up my training to 3 or 4 days a week (or more), especially on weekends.  And I'm going to be getting back to the archery range more often when I get my bow fixed (currently stuck using a compound, yuck).

As for the diet, it sounds great and inline with what I've been researching into over the past year or so... so I think I'm going to finally start implementing it regularly and see how it works out.
