Wow, that;s some pretty thorough stuff there...but I'm afraid that we are not really looking into China that much at this time! Our limited number of members is already hard at work on other locations - even so, good luck in your trip!

It is just maybe I'm visiting that place, I'm not sure yet, and we are a lot of members here, 5.106, but when I am not going to live there, in the nature, because the winter there is too cold, so I see when I am joining The Real Life Na'vi Tribe :D :D :D

[EDIT] For some strange reason the picture wasn't working for me so I just altered the html a bit so it would work. Your post remains unchanged ;). If for some reason you don't like it or would like me to change it back, just PM me :) -Itan Atxur.

I have decided when I am going to go, and I am going in 2013, next summer

The flight ticket+hotel will cost me at least 13000 NOK($2254, €1700)

I am going to work this summer in 3 or 4 weeks and earn in money to at least maybe 20000 NOK($3460, €2600)
And I am going to work maybe a bit next summer too so that I will have enough money that I am going to use to etc....

I hope this will be a fascinating tour :)

Here is pictures of how it looks there

And this one has been insipired from Avatar. A Hollywood photographer gave ideas possible to James Cameron of how the floating mountains in Avatar was going to be like
This sandstone mountain is possibly almost 1000 meter high :o

As I have heard is it living 3 indigenous groups in Zhangjiajie

We have the Tu, Bai and Miao minority groups

They are living in this dense forest

The Zhangjiajie National Forest is 690 km2 big

And I who thought it was not possible to live in this mountainous forest

Of course, I will be careful there. If someone can join me on this tour, it would be great :)

I am mostly finding chinese videos from Zhangjiajie

This is the translation for Zhangjiajie to Chinese= 張家界

so here is one

My parents are going to give me some money, so that I can make this trip real. I am gonna soon to start to work
on a grocery store in the weekends, and maybe afternoons, so I can get money, but my parents will cover some money for me

I can possibly pay 70-80% of the trip, or something
And I will go on this trip next summer :), yoooooohooooooo :D

This is great news. Please keep us in touch about this. Do you know what you will do there more or less?

I will join a group of people and we will go on sighteeeing in the national park, or this rain forest

I can set up a tour, on this page:
http://www.chinahighlights.com/

I can go on a trip to see around in the Hunan province, 1,200$/pr person
if we are a group, then more cheaper is it

This is a trip around the Hunan province, 7-day trip:

1 person: 2,000-2,600$
2-5 persons: 1,200-1,500$
6-9 persons: 900-1,000$

And there are also a 4 day trip around Zhangjiajie National Forest Park:

2-5 persons: 600-700$
6-9 persons: 400-500$

Kaltxì ma Tsanten Eywa 'eveng,
kaltxì ma frapo,

finaly I found your thread about your China-tour ;)

Too bad, I didn't search the forum before ...
'cause I went to Zhangjiajie / Wulingyuan this year - 2012 - im May !!
A friend in Beijing invited me to his marriage, so I took the chance
to go to China for 3 weeks ... traveling to Hongkong (Xianggang),
Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Zhangjiajie as well :D

I hope your expectations are not too big, or you might be dissapointed.
I also hope, you'll visit some other places, and don't go there only to
see Zhangjiajie ...
I guess the flight won't be very cheap to you as well ...
I mostly spent 700-750 €, thats why I go to China at least ~3 weeks.
( This year it was my 5th journey to China. )

You may find some pics that I took in Wulingyuan right there in the GERMAN thread ...

Maybe you already found them ;)

I don't want to disenchant too much ~ the moutains are really amazing ~ but I also
don't want you to be totaly dissapointed, when you stand right there ...!!
(I was traveling on my own, and just knew a little about the Forest Park. So when I arrived, I really
remembered Neytiris words "You should not be here ...!" But this is another story ;P ...)

I should tell you that it is already quite touristy ... no untouched nature  :(
Many buses, a Cable Car, an Elevator ...
I also wouldn't call it "rain forrest" ... to me, such one look very different ...
It's just forrest, like you may find it in Southern Europe too ...
The animals we saw, were just monkeys, wild dogs, birds, butterflys and
other insects ... guess the snakes are scared off by the many people
who come to visit the Forest Park.
And at least: the rocks are not "grey" like Selfridge says ...
As you see on your pictures, the sandstone is yellow or brown ;)

btw: The prices at chinahighlights look quite high to me ... :o
It just includes the service from Zhangjiajie airport, which means, you have to
add the cost for international and domesitc flight !!
Ok, I guess you don't speek Chinese at all (my Chinese is only about 700-800
characters) but it still seems like rip-off to me !!
(What is quite near to the story, because of what I remembered Neytiris words ...)

Ok ... there is still some time ...
guess we will have chance to chat about it
and ensure your success
:D ;D :D

Eywa ayngahu  !!

I need a well-payed job to earn enough money for this trip.

About maybe $30 pr night on a hotel, for example this hotel
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g494933-d1411483-Reviews-Jinjiang_Inn_Zhangjiajie-Zhangjiajie_Hunan.html
Well, thanks for this link. :D

And if you are interesting in travelling to this place, you can contact the people on China Highlights
http://www.chinahighlights.com/contactus/

You can just ask them any question you have.'
They even have a live chat on skype too

Discover Zhangjiajie, for only $600
http://www.chinahighlights.com/tour/zhangjiajietour/hun-3/

For your economy, it's better you travel with a group, that will make it cheaper.

That's a lot of helpful information!
