Today, was by far the best day I've had in the 17 years of my life. Great thing was? It was all really nature, primarily on my friend's property, which is covered in cow feces and ATV tracks. But, the majority of all this was just him trying to show me life without electronics. So, phones off, away, we went out and lived a little.

Fed and watered cows, the usual stuff, then he told me 'just wrestle down that calf over there', which was a 3.5-foot at shoulder, but it was the smallest he had. So, little explaining at side, I went for it. 'Just wrap his neck, and pull his legs from under him' were the instructions I had, so I actually had the task of trying to wrestle it down as though my life required it. (Hint Hint) All in all, I couldn't wrestle it down, but I got the chance to chase after something, got knocked over many times, got covered in dirt and mud, but I felt the energy, and realized I didn't care that I was covered in a little dirt. This was all fun.

So, after that, it was just to walk around and check the barbed-wire fences to check their strength, at the same time just hear sounds. The only sounds there, insects and the grass blowing. I think what I'm trying to get at is we should focus more on this, but at the same time live a little. We all get 1 life, why are we wasting it in this time?

Ask to help out at calving time.  Nothing like the feeling of tying a rope to the feet of a breech calf while it's still inside its mother, and trying to drag it out before it suffocates.  Now there's an adrenalin rush!   :o

I know what you mean ma tsmukan. As much as I want to do this I still don't want to waste the time between now and day one.

This might be coming to a stop pretty soon, my friends parent's are starting to be more home-based, so that means I'll have to meet them (they want to meet me too) before I can start getting into doing this more often.

They don't know me, so they wouldn't really appreciate the fact of me being on their property until I meet them.

Now I understand.  Very wise of you. :D
