I see that some plant names end in -wll, which made me guess that wll is the word for plant

Then, I found a wordlist which says that the word for plant is awll. Close enough, but I wonder where the a- comes from.. If wll doesn't look like a good na'vi word, then how do we know it's awll and not ewll or owll. AFAIK it doesn't appear anywhere as an independent word.

That word list is mistaken.  The word for "plant" is 'ewll.

It's common for Na'vi words to change shape somewhat when they are put into compounds.  For example, the word for "toe," venzek, is made of up parts from venu "foot" and zekwä "finger."

yes this happens with all languages :)

but what i wonder is this: where is the full word given?
