So I've been studying the latest update of the Na'vi dictionary, and somethings got me seriously confused...
The idiom, "Day time smoking pleasure," prrkxentrrkrr is unfamiliar to me. I'm wondering if someone could explain it and how it's classified/used?

Also, "cute little fire", txeptsyip? Is that like a pet name for someone you love or something?

Irayo.

With prrkxentrrkrr, look at the second definition. The first definition is a literal etymological translation whilst the second is a better translation of the idiom. Bear in mind that this comes from skxawng not Frommer..

I'm not sure how you'd use txeptsyip though. Maybe it could be used for those very round flames that candles sometimes make that, when compared to a roaring fire seem incredibly baby-ish and kawaii but that's pretty much a guess, I'd probably avoid it until we get a canonical usage.

... however Frommer used the word soooo :P

Frommer had liked the word after it was brought up in a phone call and had requested that i make a sort of explanation as well as etymological definition of the word, which I gladly came up with :

Prrkxentrrkrr
('Vibrating Tounge') was initially a word that was created personally for the sole purpose of practicing the trilled rr as well as ejectives, (kill two birds with one stone). When shared one night in Skype, the meaning was jokingly said to be 'vibrating tounge,' as three trilled rr's make for 'aw nìwin rerikx ftxì!

Etymologically, the word is a contraction of four words:

Prrkxentrrkrr
Prrte' + Kxener + trr + krr
Prr + kxen + trr + krr  (contracted)
Translation: Daytime Pleasure Smoke (literally)

How is it "Vibrating Tounge?"
Given that Na'vi seem to have feline characteristics, perhaps they 'purr' to show pleasure - this would work as onomatopoeia with prrte'.  Prrkxentrrkrr might then be a sort of plant or leaf that is only harvested and used during the day, as the biolumenescent reactions that occur at night change the chemical makeup of the plant, which during the day works as a powerful euphoric and aphrodisiac in Na'vi physiology when burned and consumed via inhalation - hence where the 'pleasure' comes from - and at night does little to nothing.

Perhaps the plant's original name was "Prrtekxener" - or 'Pleasure-smoke', and since Tribe life is a very active one during the day, its use in the day-time became more of a rare ceremony, and therefore prrkxentrrkrr is the actual ritual, or act. Given its aphrodisiacal qualities, and its use in Na'vi society, particularly among young mates who might neglect their daily tribal duties to use it, the word might have been used as a sort of slang among 'adolescent' Na'vi to represent the more intimate moments among new Na'vi mates, when much purring (vibrating tounge) commences. (cue giggling in a sex ed class)

"Tsengpe Pìraysì?"
"hu Kätya kxawm ... prrkxentrrkrr!"
*giggling*

Over time its use became favored over "nìwin rerikx ftxi" or similar, more literal descriptors, particularly considering the fact that the word does indeed contain 3 trills.

Ridiculous?  I created a lexical sentence using that word.  It's quite fun, and it makes things a little easier 8)
