Is this word countable?

Not all languages treat 'news' as English does... In German it can be 'a/one news' (eine Neuigkeit) or 'many news' (viele Neuigkeiten). How is this handled in Na'vi? Can I say oel ayfmawnit stolawm*... ?

We have Frommer's sentence from the Earth Day message as slä lu oeru fmawno asìltsan*, which I don't quite know what to make of...

Thoughts?

In my opinion - yes. And I saw someplace, about 3 or 4 months ago: Ayfmawniri irayo seiyi.

Well, if Frommer used the singular form of the word to talk about news (assuming the he did intend to say that exactly), the logical conclusion that I can see is that fmawn must already be plural and that no singular form exists. Would that make any sense? ??? I think saying something like Oel pxaya fmawnit stolawm would be correct, but I'm not sure about the sentence you wrote. :) Because if the word in itself is already plural, then adding a plural infix probably wouldn't be necessary. But then, what about dual and trial? Can one specifically say "two/three news"? ??? I don't think so, but oh well. :)

I'm also curious to know what you guys will think! :D

Edit: After being ninja'd by Kamean, it seems like my entire theory doesn't work anymore. :P

Maybe you're right. In any case, we should ask Paul. :)

Sran! :) There are so many things we would ask him if we could, actually. :D
