What is the difference between hawnu and tìhawnu si? Do they have different meanings? Are they used in different contexts?

No, there is no difference. Just hawnu is transitive and tìhawnu si is intransitive. More read here ;)

In the movie it was used intransitively (when Eytukan dies, he says: ..... Omatikayaru tìhawnu sivi)
I'm not sure if we have example with transitive usage.
